Ow, she's a brick house She's mighty mighty, just letting it all hang out Ah, she's a brick house I like ladies stacked and that's a fact Ain't holding nothing back Ow, she's a brick house Well put together, everybody knows This is how the story goes. She knows she's got everything Mmm, that a woman needs to get a man, yeah, yeah How can she lose with the stuff she use? 36-24-36, ow, what a winning hand

Commodores is the fifth studio album by the Commodores, released in 1977. The album spent eight weeks at the top of the R&B/soul albums chart, the second of their albums to do so, and was their first Top 5 pop album. There is also a previously released extended version. The band employed a variety of musical styles for the album, highlighted by the popular anthem "Brick House"

Brick House" is a song from the Commodores' 1977 self-titled album (released as Zoom in the UK). The single peaked at in the . and in the UK Singles Chart. In 1977, the Commodores were in the studio recording when there was a problem with the equipment. While the equipment was being repaired and replaced, the group took a break. Ronald LaPread, the group's bass player, began jamming. Bit by bit the rest of the band joined in until they came up with a track and bass line.

This 11-song collection of hits and album tracks sounds like the work of two different bands. The soulful ballads are represented by standout tracks like "This Is Your Life," "Three Times a Lady," "Painted Picture," and the lovely acoustic "Sail O. The funk side of the group is exemplified by the mighty, mighty "Brick House," which is the funkiest track here (and most anywhere).

Lyrics to "Brick House" song by The Commodores: She's a brick house She's mighty, mighty Just lettin' it all hang out She's a brick house I like la. .She's a brick house Well, we're together everybody knows This is how the story goes. The Dome, Brighton c.1978. I was feeling miffed at having been told to sit down by the stewards when, about 3 songs in, came the thumping bass of Brick House. Well, I wasn't about to sit through the funkiest song by the funkiest band so I got up (& got down) expecting the auditorium to follow. They didn't. However, Lionel Richie pointed to me and said, "You got the groove". Coming fron the groovemaster I was well chuffed. Sadly, my groove, along with Lionel's was misplaced and hasn't been seen since the late eighties.
