The Third Reich 'N Roll is a music studio album recording by THE RESIDENTS (essive Rock) released in 1976 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Good, but non-essential (20%). Collectors/fans only (5%). Only for completionists (4%).

The Third Reich 'n Roll is a 1976 album by the . avant-garde rock group The Residents. Their second (officially) released album, it is a parody and satire of pop music and commercials from the 1960s. The work consists of two side-long pastiches of various songs from the period. Some are obvious, while others are almost unrecognizable.

Eskimo is an album by the Residents. The album was originally supposed to follow 1977's Fingerprince; however, due to many delays and arguments with management, it was not released until 1979. Upon release it was hailed as the group's best record to date.

Fingerprince and The Third Reich 'N' Roll were The Residents' most seminal albums. Together the two albums planted the seeds that generated The Residents' entire universe. Fingerprince may not be a great album, but it's a historically important album for The Residents none the less.

Notes

"During the Spring of 1977, The Residents conceived of The Third Reich 'N' Roll Collectors Box. The project was offered to mail-order customers on an advance sale basis as a very limited edition of 25 hand-numbered copies, with 5 additional boxes to be made as artist proofs, and for the Cryptic archives. After many problems and long delays, the boxes were finally completed and realised in August of 1980. 12 of the boxes remained from the early mail-order sales were auctioned off by the W.E.I.R.D. fan club label later that fall.

...These came with a hand pressed red marbled vinyl edition of the record, with silk-screened sleeve and labels, in a velvet-lined black wooden box with a sliding panel featuring hand-screened versions of the original cover art. Also enclosed are two signed and numbered lithographs by California artist Nancy Maas Mosen (aka. Irene Dogmatic). The entire box was enclosed in a drawstring bag made from a panel of the famous Christo's "Fence" art work.

50 marbled discs were actually pressed for the Collectors Box, but 20 were rejected for cosmetic reasons, and were placed in the Cryptic archives."

(Above notes taken from "The Cryptic Guide To The Residents", Compiled an Edited by Dave Warden, 1986)

The Irene Dogmatic lithographs are signed in pencil using her real name (Nancy Maas Mosen), dated 1977, numbered out of 50, and titled "Dogs in Bondage" and "Animal Husbandry".
