About Stories Of Me lyrics. Album Paul Kelly: Live, May 1992. They say a man is going 'round He looks a lot like me They say that man is going down It's looking pretty likely Every morning he wakes Fills his cup and listens shamefully To stories of me. Everybody come on down Set 'em up and pass 'em round We're all here for a drowning.
Talk (Paul Kelly album). Studio album by Paul Kelly and the Dots. 30 March 1981 (1981-03-30). Recognition" line-up were Kelly (vocals), Chris Langman (guitars), Chris Worrall (guitars), Paul Gadsby (bass guitar) and John Lloyd (drums). The version of "Recognition" included on Talk is not the single version, but a re-recording. Paul Kelly: Stories of Me. Before Too Long: Triple J's Tribute to Paul Kelly.
Kelly has written over 350 songs, penned lyrics for many other singers, co-authored songs and written for film. But like all great artists, Kelly is both candid and reserved. He has lived in the public eye but has remained an enigma. Nothing in director Ian Darling’s dutifully plodding 95 minute documentary on the respected Australian singer-songwriter Paul Kelly interferes with the common perception that he’s a very likable bloke with his head screwed firmly onto his shoulders. While this may sit well with his followers, it makes the film a less appealing prospect for those not yet part of the club.
In August 2012, ‘Paul Kelly – Stories Of Me’, a feature-length documentary premiered in Melbourne. Distributed by Madman Films, the documentary is an intimate portrait of the very private man behind the music. For the first time on film, Kelly speaks candidly about the people who have helped shape his life and music. Featuring rare archival footage, ‘Paul Kelly – Stories Of Me’ also unveils newly recorded live performances, as well as interviews with family members, former and current band members, music contemporaries and music media
