A few days ago there was a rumour that Sephora might come back to the UK and everyone lost their shit, including myself. Someone posted a picture on Twitter I think, where the brand logo appeared in one of the windows of Westfield Stratford City. So far nobody knows anything, but we can only hope! If our wishes are granted, then we are in for a treat! I know most people tend to go for the high-end brands in Sephora, but from what I understood their own makeup line is pretty incredible. My best friend is a big fan and when she visited a few days ago, she brought me some bits to try out.
Obviously, first impressions can be misleading, but I liked what I saw. I was most impressed with the eyeshadows, mainly how pigmented they are. The texture is soft and buttery, very easy to apply and blend. Lazy Afternoon is a matte beige, perfect to use as a base or for a “no makeup“ makeup look. It`s creamy and long-lasting, a shade that will make the ones on top stand out more. Moving on to shades that are more pigmented, we have Romantic Comedy, a shimmery pinky-beige that will brighten up your whole look. Perfect for those days when you want to look good, without making too much of an effort.

I also got a trio of mini eyeshadows, which came in a pretty packaging, but I threw it away. Oh well! Be on the A-list is a shimmery taupe, which can be worn on the whole eyelid or just in the crease. Again, it`s a shade that will compliment every eye colour and make the day to night transition. In the pan, Movie Popcorn looks like a pale, shimmery yellow, but once applied, it has a white, pearly finish. This is a shade that works best as a highlighter, perfect for the inner corner of your eyes and on the brow bone. And last, but not least, there`s It Bag, a gorgeous bronzey colour.
One product that I am obsessed with is this eye pencil, in shade 08, Sun Tan. First of all, can we all take a moment to appreciate this gorgeous colour? As you can see from the photo, the pigmentation is insane! It`s incredibly creamy and smooth, it glides easily and lasts for ours. It`s also a waterproof formula, so I honestly can`t say anything bad about this product.
I have also received a duo blush, but I`m still on the fence with this one. I just think that the colours are a bit too bright for my liking. On one side you have a peachy, orange shade and on the other a baby, Barbie pink. The pigmentation is not that amazing, neither is the staying power. Because the colours don`t really suit me, I have not tested them properly, but I am willing to give them a second chance.
There was a lipgloss set as well, but unfortunately, my little niece decided she needs some sparkles, so now it`s hers. Overall, I am quite happy with these products and thankful that my bestie knows me so well. Have you tried anything from Sephora`s own makeup collection? If so, what else do you recommend?
