Hello, everyone! Now officially back, I thought I would reinstate the Weekly 5 series, where we talk about the things I loved in the past week. I personally enjoy these posts, because they give me the chance to talk about several topics, from beauty to books and movies. So without any further ado, let`s get down to business:
1. NYX lip products
I recently had a quick browse at NYX`s counter in Westfield Stratford City and picked two butter glosses and two soft matte lipsticks. While they are different in texture, I love them equally. The soft matte lipsticks are so comfortable to wear; they stay put for hours without drying your lips at all. Lately, I`ve been trying several matte lipsticks, but none are as hydrating as these. The butter glosses were another pleasant surprise because they are very pigmented and long lasting. And they smell delicious as well. I will write a review about these products next week, with more details and swatches.
2. Zoella Beauty Le Fizz
A couple of weeks ago, Zoella released a new collection, and it`s the best one she has so far. The packaging is adorable, and the products smell like macarons and almond, a sweet scent that will leave you wanting for a trip to your nearest patisserie. While the collection has three star-products (
at least, for me), this week I`ve been loving the Fragranced Bath Fizzer. If you want to know more about the collection, check out my review here.
3. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
I don`t enjoy romance novels, but this book is something special. I loved the fact that the love story is not the primary focus, and that it focus more on living your life and not letting mistakes define who you are. It`s truly an emotional ride, and while I did not cry, this book stayed with me long after I finished it. If you want to find out more, here`s my review.
4. Suicide Squad
I know haters are gonna hate, but I found this movie amazing! I am one of those rare people that enjoy both Marvel and DC movies and don`t have the need to pit them against each other. But, while I liked Captain America: Civil War, I don`t understand how people see it as the superior movie. I think Suicide Squad had a good story, and the acting was phenomenal. Margot Robbie definitely stole the show, and Jared Leto was great as The Joker, though I wish he had more scenes. I know the focus was on the actual Suicide Squad and that he was used to showing Harley`s backstory and motives, but he was so goooooood!
Also loved the soundtrack, I have been playing Gangsta (the Chemical scene between Joker and Harley) over and over again. This song received many undeserved bad reviews, so if you want my view, let me know, and I`ll write a bigger post.
Lastly, I really enjoyed blogging again. It`s wonderful when I see your lovely comments and your positive feedback, a great reminder of why I started blogging in the first place. So thank you for that, it means a lot!
Let me know in the comments what were a couple of the things you loved this week. Tomorrow and Wednesday I finally have some days off, so that will give me plenty of time to catch up with your latest posts. Leave the links in the comments; I`d love to take a look!
