It`s no secret that I`m a very clumsy person, so for years, I had to stay away from curlers or straighteners. I would always burn either my hand or forehead and in the days when I was extremely lucky, both of them. I have the patience of a baby and one of the reasons I can`t keep my hair long is that I don`t know what to do with it. In my mind I always picture myself with some cool hairstyles, but getting them is a different thing. Now the length is somewhere in the middle and I like it that way because it`s easy to style, but it won`t take you forever to do it.
When Madison from Irresistible Me got in touch and talked about a future collaboration, I got extremely excited. I have heard only positive reviews about this brand and most people seemed to love their hair extensions or hair accessories. But the thing that got me really intrigued was their Diamond Hair Styling Iron. There are a few bloggers that I follow on a daily basis and I trust their opinion and the feedback for this straightener was so good; I had to try it.
The styling iron came in a sleek, black cardboard box; it`s a stylish packaging and it looks very professional. It arrived in less than a week, which was a pleasant surprise, considering the company`s headquarters are in New York. Before sending me the tool, Madison told me I would need an adapter, so I got one from Poundland and I was ready to test it properly as soon as it arrived.
Like I said earlier, I`m not the most patient person in the world, so I think it`s great that the iron needs only a few seconds to heat up. The maximum temperature is 230C, but the best part is the fact that you can play with the temperature variations, thus avoiding hair damage. Made with ceramic plates, it will last a long time and it won`t cheap or get damaged easily.
(excuse the messy room, we are in the process of moving and there are things everywhere)
My hair is thin and frizzy, so I was very happy to see that the straightener has a function that stops that. It was very easy to use and it left my hair shiny and smooth, without that awful burnt smell you sometimes get from this kind of tools. (you know, the cheap irons that don`t do anything for your hair other than frying it like a spring roll) The plates are quite thin and I think it will be very easy to create some curls with them, so that`s what I`ll probably do next.
This magic tool costs 149$, which would likely be around 105-110£, an excellent price for such an amazing tool. It`s lightweight, easy to use and gets the job done in a few seconds, so no complaints there. The materials and the technology they used are top-notch, it`s a sound investment.
