Best in Beauty 2015: Makeup

Hello, everyone! It`s been a while, but now I am back to my normal work schedule and I can resume writing 4-5 posts per week. In my mind, I already planned so many exciting things for the following months (tons of Xmas presents to review), but until then I thought it would be nice to chat about my 2015 favourites. I know everyone is doing these posts and you must be a bit tired of them, but then again, everyone has a different opinion and likes different things. I bought so much makeup in 2015 and I even got my first Mac products (now I`m addicted btw), so today we`ll have a big fat post about the things that made me look like a normal human being even when I was working until 11 pm.

I`m going to start with my most loved product of 2015, my Mac Studio Sculpt foundation in NW15. This is the first medium to full coverage foundation I ever tried and it took me a while to find a balance and learn how to properly blend it, but now it just gives me to most flawless finish ever, covering everything from redness to big nasty spots. While this was my most used foundation in the colder months, in the summer I loved using Rimmel`s Match Perfection foundation. This is a light coverage foundation, but it can be build up, and it leaves a very natural and dewy finish. Like I said, this does not cover a lot, so for spots and breakouts the product that saved me was Collection`s Lasting Perfection Concealer. This works like Photoshop, it can cover everything you want it to.

I tried a lot of blushers, bronzers and contour kits this year, but there were two products that completely stole my heart. One was the No7 Dual Bronzer that came with a bronzer and highlighter, both pigmented and easy to blend. The other was from W7, their Candy Blush in Galactic. This is my second favourite product of the year, the packaging was super cute and the formula was insane! These are the most pigmented blushes I ever tried, they give such a gorgeous flush and are so easy to blend. Galactic also has a bit of shimmer in it, so it adds a nice glow and makes your skin more radiant and healthy looking.

Moving on to the eyes, my most used palette was from Makeup Revolution, their Iconic 3 palette. This is a Naked dupe and has a nice mix of matte and shimmery shades, mainly neutrals. I think Makeup Revolution does some of the best eye shadow palettes I ever tried, they are buttery, pigmented, blend well without any fallout…and they`re ridiculously cheap. I loved all my mascaras equally this year, so I can`t really choose just one, but I`ll pick my favourite brow product of 2015. There were pencils and gels, but the standout product was the Ultra Brow Palette from Makeup Revolution. This comes with 4 powders, eyebrow wax, a pencil, a highlighter and an arch enhancing cream, basically, everything you need to achieve boldly defined eyebrows. Now that I am blonde again the Fair to Medium shade works amazing and completely changes my look whenever I use it.

And the last products left on the list are lipsticks. Again, I tried so many different formulas, but in the end, I went for the products I reached out the most. And even though they are quite a recent addition, ever since I got these Clinique Pop lipsticks they`re all I`ve been wearing. One is the perfect nude, with an amazingly creamy and moisturizing formula, while the other is a bold demi-matte red that does not dry your lips at all. Love these so much, might have to check out other shades as well.

If you were patient enough to finish this post, congrats! This is actually the condensed version, I had to keep my ramblings to a minimum because otherwise this would have turned into a novel. I did not include any skincare or body products because I used the same products I did in 2014 (well, new ones, but bought over and over again) so there wasn`t really a point in including them. Like I said at the beginning of the post, now I`ll post more often, but until the next post let me know what were your 2015 beauty favourites I always love reading your suggestions.

I agree that the concealer really does come in handy when covering blemishes. I'd love to give mac foundations a go some day, for now im really enjoying lighter coverage provided by bb or cc creams :)Pam xo/ Pam Scalfi♥

You should really try one, they`re amazing. Light coverage foundations remain my favourite, but when my skin is acting out, I need a full coverage one.

Everyone thinks it`s from Bourjois, might try that one as well and make a comparison.

I tried out some W7 products recently and they were fantastic, so I want to try their blushers out now too! I'm enjoying the W7 naked 3 dupe too. Also, SNAP I've been wearing the Clinique red so much since I got it :)Velvet Blush

You should try them, they`re very similar to Bourjois` Little Round Pots. I started wearing that red lipstick only recently, but I bloody love it.

I've tried a few MAC products here and there, I absolutely love their strobe cream! Magical glow in a tube, seriously. I've wanted to try those Clinique lipsticks for a while, but I think I'll hold off on it until – gasp – I finish one of my current lipsticks. I'm aware that most people have more than I do, but it just kind of puts me off how many I have, hahaha. I've been thinking about doing a favorites makeup post as well – it's never too late, right? ;)becky ♡ star violet

I know what you mean about lipsticks, I have quite a lot by my standards and I always go for the same shades, so I need to finish some as well.

Can`t wait to see your post. Actually for me it`s the opposite with that concealer, provides excellent coverage for blemishes, but dries out my under-eye area. Still love it for the full coverage though!

This was so interesting to read! I bought Collection 2000 when I was in the UK a couple of years ago and as much as I wanted to love it, it just didn’t work with my skin. I’m hoping to try the urban decay concealer this year though but will have to save some of my pennies first! 🙂 Great post!

I heard great things about the UD concealer, it`s on my list as well. I find the Collection one too drying for my under-eye area, but I love it for the coverage it provides on my blemishes.

I`m glad you liked them. I was a bit afraid that people are getting tired of them, but then again, everyone likes different things.

It`s very good and it`s about 3£ if I remember correctly, so it`s a total bargain.

I love Rimmel's Match Perfection foundation; since mine ran out I've moved on to other foundations but I think I'll have to repurchase it because it really was the best one I've used.
