Hello, everyone! Today we`ll be talking about monthly favourites and rather than having 2 separate posts, I`ll combine the beauty and lifestyle bits into one giant post. Now, you might be wondering why I`m doing that. I`m actually planning some sort of Blogmas, a week where I`ll be posting daily festive posts, from outfits to food and movies. Therefore, the December favourites will be divided into 4 categories, how exciting is that?
I will start this post with my beauty favourites because I believe those are the ones you like the most. I had to do quite a selection and narrowed it down to 5 products, the ones that really stood out this month. So the first product I`m going to pick is Snow Fairy from Lush. You all know how much I love this product and whenever I see it in store, I buy 3 or 4 bottles. It`s pink, a bit glittery and it smells just like cotton candy, which makes it the perfect shower gel!
The next product was a sample I got with an Elle magazine and I actually prayed I would not like it because it`s such a posh and in a way useless product. I`m talking about the They`re Real! Primer from Benefit, but sadly, I bloody love it! It makes such a difference when I apply it, my lashes are longer and paired with mascara they have more volume and definition. When I wrote my review I said that even though I enjoyed it I won`t buy the full-size product, but now I`m actually reconsidering my statement. And in the makeup section, we also have Mac`s Studio Sculpt Foundation. I only got it 6 or 7 weeks ago, but I already talked a lot about it, so I won`t bore you with more details. It`s perfect if you want a full coverage foundation, it lasts for hours and blends really well into a natural, semi dewy finish. You can find my review here.
The temperature dropped a lot these past weeks, but it`s still not cold enough to wear gloves (or, at least, I can`t do it if it`s not below 0 degrees). My hands were getting quite dry and chapped, so one day I went into Boots and got Garnier`s Intensive 7 Days Restoring Hand Cream. What I loved most about this product is that I started seeing results straight away. It has shea butter and L-Bifidus (yup, the Activia probiotic) and these make your skin softer and suppler. It also smells really nice (a bit like aloe vera) and it`s fast absorbing, without feeling greasy afterwards.
And the last beauty product is the OGX Kukui Oil, which can be used on dry or damp hair. This made such a difference with my hair, now it`s softer, less frizzy and a lot easier to style. I mainly use it before blow drying or straightening my hair, it acts as a heat protector and I noticed that my hair is not breaking that easily anymore. It`s a drugstore product, so you can imagine it`s quite cheap, so for more details you can read my review.
There`s one clear winner this month and that`s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. This was hands down one of the best book adaptations ever made and everything from the story to the acting was beyond perfection. There were a lot of moments that I loved, as a Peeta and Katniss shipper the ending was perfect, but if I had to pick one scene it would be the last dialogue between Snow and Katniss. So so so good, I get shivers every time I watch it. I don`t want to spoil it too much, but I did make a post about it if you want to find out more.
I recently discovered Jessica Jones, a show about a former superhero who becomes a private investigator. I don`t know how many of you watched it, but the main actress had a small part in Veronica Mars, a show about a teenage girl that becomes a private investigator. So it`s quite funny to see Gia, I mean Krysten in this role. The story is really good, I for one love a strong female lead and David Tennant from Doctor Who is so compelling as the villain Killgrave! I cannot recommend this enough, I`m sure you`ll get hooked too if you start watching it.
These were my November favourites, let me know in the comments if you like any of these or what were your favourite things this past month.
P.S. Blogmas will be between 14th-20th of December if you want to mark the date! 🙂
