Hello, everyone! I finally managed to escape Flu Land, just in time for the Bloggers Xmas party, my first event, yay! Or at least, that`s what I hope, that I`ll stay OK until Saturday. My immune system is a bit of a joke and it just gets worse this time of the year. A job in retail means that not only do I have to work extra hours because it`s the Holidays season, but I also spend a lot of time in a place where it`s ridiculously hot, to step outside in the cold a few hours later. But hey, you need to make your money and I actually enjoy my job, so I try not to let these things affect me. I have planned quite a few posts these weeks, so hopefully, everything goes according to the plan.
This month it`s a mix of hair and body products, these being the ones that I reach out for the most. Shower gels are something that I use all the time, so you always see a bottle hidden in an empties post. I am not fussy about them, as long as they do their job they can be high-end or drugstore, I don`t mind either. I got this one from Sanctuary Spa in a gift box and I really liked it. It had a relaxing scent and it also contained essentials oils, to keep your skin soft. I don`t know how much this costs on its own, but it was a lovely thing to use after a long day at work.
Speaking of body products, I have one from I Love, the Strawberry and Cream one. I won`t lie, my all time favourite scrub is Sugar Crush from Soap and Glory, but it ran out a few weeks ago, so I needed a cheap alternative. I always get Soap and Glory products for Christmas and my birthday, so it would have been pointless to get one. Now, this is not the best at exfoliating your skin, but it`s pretty decent and it also smells nice, so it`s a good alternative when you`re on a strict budget.
Moving on to hair care, I had big expectations from The Macadamia Oil Extract Shampoo. I know it`s something that you buy in Poundland, so you might be wondering how good it can be, Well, the hair treatment it`s the best thing I tried in my life, leaving my hair smooth and frizz free (review here.) Sadly, the shampoo wasn`t the best for me. I just felt that it did not do a good job at cleansing, so for a person with greasy hair, this was an NO for me. For 1£, I still think you should try it, especially if you have dry hair it might work out for you.
Whilst in Poundland, I also picked up the Ultimate Volume Conditioner from Gliss, something that I go back to whenever I think my hair is getting too flat. Just like the name suggests, this adds lots of volume and it feels very lightweight, but also nourishing. I like it, but at the same time, it`s not a Holy Grail product, because I always like to switch my conditioner and try different formulas for different problems.
And the last product that I want to talk about it`s this cute face cream sample from L`Occitane. I only used this for 2 weeks, but in that time it did such a difference! I have combination skin, but during the colder months, it tends to get more dry and feel quite tight and itchy. This reduced my redness and made my skin look brighter while giving it a boost of moisture. It`s a really lovely cream and it also smells like peonies, a scent that I quite like. It`s definitely my favourite product from this post and I`m really tempted to splurge and buy the full-size version.
So these are the products that I`ve been using in the past month. Let me know if you tried any of these and what did you think of them.
