If you did not see the last part of The Hunger Games, then skip this post. Or feel free to read it if you`re like me and you like to know what happens when you see a movie. I want it to be good, so I want a good story and reading spoilers convinces me if it`s worth watching or not.
So is this movie worth watching? DEFINITELY! It`s my favourite from the whole franchise and it`s also one of the best book adaptations I have ever seen.
Before that, I saw the trailer for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a bit confused to be honest.
I won`t tell you everything that happened, I`ll just discuss some of my favourite moments. If you remember the ending of Mockingjay Part 1, a brainwashed Peeta tries to strangle Katniss, which was such a moving and shocking scene! Part 2 focuses a lot on his recovery and really lets Josh Hutcherson shine. You might not be a Peeta fan, but you must admit that the actor does an amazing job portraying him. So in the last part, you find out more about what they did to him, how they tortured and changed his memories. He does not know what`s real or not anymore, so he starts with Katniss a REAL or Not Real type of game. Those scenes are amazing, especially the last one when he asks her if her love for him is real.
As you might have guessed, I am a big Katniss and Peeta shipper. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I don`t mind Gale and Katniss shippers, but I get annoyed when people say that Peeta and Katniss lack chemistry. LOVE IS MORE THAN LUST. Their love came from a traumatic event, they went to some similar experiences that will stay with them forever. And only together they were able to heal. I could go on and on, but everyone can ship who they want. I was just happy that in the end they found peace.
A lot of people were heartbroken by Prim`s death, but I did not care too much for her, sorry. She was a sweet kid, but I felt no connection. Finnick on the other hand was my second favourite after Peeta. Even though I knew he was going to die, I still cried like a baby. That whole scene is really good and quite scary, probably the only real action parts of the movie. I won`t lie, compared to the first 2 Hunger Games the pace of the movie is a bit slow, but it`s the final conclusion.
And what was the final conclusion? Well, a bit similar to the one in Animal Farm, if you read it. That sometimes the oppressed can become the oppressors. There`s an amazing scene between Snow and Katniss, where he tells her that while they were busy playing cat and mouse, someone played them both. And that`s Alma Coin! People might have fought for their liberty, but her fight was for power. And I for one truly believe that if she lived, she would have been a lot worse than Snow.
In conclusion, I really loved this movie, everything from the story to the acting was incredible and I can`t wait for the DVD release. Let me know in the comments if you`ve seen it and what were your favourite parts!
