Hello, everyone! Lately, I`m really going through a lipstick addiction, I love testing different shades and formulas, from matte reds to creamy nudes. I am not too fussy with lipsticks, to be honest, I don`t really see the point in investing a lot of money in them and I normally stick to drugstore products. But I am not one to say no to luxurious samples either. So when I saw that Glamour was giving away some Clinique freebies, I marched to Sainsbury and got 6 magazines. Now, you can also get mini samples of the High Impact Mascara or one of their face creams, but for me, these were a big no. I had that mascara before and it gave me the worst reaction ever, my eyes were red and watery for at least 30 minutes. The cream did not do much for me either, but the lipsticks seemed lovely. The samples are generous and the magazine is only 2£, so that`s truly a bargain! Wish they had more shades to choose from, but one has to be happy with what he/she can get.
Like I said, you were able to choose from two shades, Nude Pop and Cherry Pop. Nude Pop is a gorgeous dusty pink nude, which looks great on my pale skin though it might not do much for darker skin tones. Cherry Pop is a bright raspberry red, but the colour is very wearable.
They are both very pigmented, but because it`s a pale pink, Nude Pop is not that noticeable. Also, it has more shimmer than Cherry Pop in it. I know some people don`t like extremely shimmery nude lipstick, but for whatever reason, I love it. It`s a your lips but better kinda shade and the shine just makes my tiny lips look bigger. Cherry Pop also has a bit of shimmer in it, but I think they finish is more demi-matte on that one.
The formula of these lipsticks is simply amazing, they feel very moisturizing and it`s almost like you`re applying a tinted lip balm. They are smooth and apply evenly, they`re extremely comfortable to wear and don`t cling on any dry patches. However the claim that they last for 8 hours it not true. On me, Nude Pop last for about 2-3 hours and Cherry Pop for 4 hours. But to be completely honest I don`t mind that, I would rather reapply a creamy and hydrating lipstick than use a matte one that just accentuates every dry patch. I`m sorry, I`m really trying to get into the matte lipsticks trend, but my chapped lips refuse to accept them.
Overall I really like these, especially the nude one. I don`t think I would get the full version and spend 16£ on a lipstick, but I did get 6 magazines in order to get more of these. And the price for the 6 magazines was still cheaper:)) Let me know if you tried these and what did you think of them.
