A few weeks ago I was watching one of Lilly Pebbles videos, where she was talking about a free seven days trial from L`Occitane en Provence. Basically, you had to do an online test for them to see which cream would suit you best and then had to collect your sample from the nearest L`Occitane store. What was great about this trial was the fact that not only the sample was targeting your own skin problems, but also was a decent size sample. I don`t know about you, but I hate it when I get something I can use only once. Obviously, you have to be grateful for everything, but how do you know that a product works if you can only use it once? As you can see, the cream came in a beautiful small pot, enough to last you for 10 days.
Before the actual review, let me just tell you that this cream has the best scent I came across in a skincare product. It smells like peonies and it`s such a fresh and invigorating scent it`s a real pleasure to apply it. Most of the times products that smell like flowers or plants give me headaches because the scent is so strong, but this is very subtle, yet you can still feel it. You know something is good when it can make you love something you normally hated.
This cream is different from anything I ever tried before, thanks to its thick, creamy formula. Surprisingly enough, it sinks in a couple of seconds and your skin does not feel greasy afterwards. As soon as you apply it your skin feels moisturized, with a satin, soft to touch finish. Because of that, it makes an excellent base for makeup while the mineral-based pigments will add a nice glow, to make your skin look brighter and less dull. I had only a sample, so I can`t talk about the benefits in a long-term run, but the week I was using it my skin was feeling a lot better. The main things I noticed was that it helped reduced my redness and my skin felt less tight. I believe this is a cream targeted at people with dry skin, but I think everyone could use it, especially in these colder months.
Most of you know by now that I have a budget when it comes to beauty products, but I tend to make exceptions when it comes to skincare products. It`s better to prevent than treat and you can really see a difference between cheap and high-end creams. When I collected the cream I got a 10£ off voucher, so I might treat myself and buy this cream. Let me know if you tried this cream before or if there are other L`Occitane skincare products I should take into consideration.
