W7 is a very affordable brand, which probably has a dupe for almost every beauty product you can think of. OK, maybe I`m exaggerating a bit, but if there`s a cult high-end beauty item, W7 will probably have something similar for less money. Now, a lot of brands do amazing dupes (just think how dull our lives were before Makeup Revolution), but one thing I absolutely love about W7 is that they pay a lot of attention to the packaging. For instance, not only the Naked palettes dupes have very similar shades, but also the packaging is spot on, a thin metal tin.
The only downside is that this brand is not that easy to find here in the UK. You can order from their official website or other sites that specialize in beauty, but I`m not a fan of that to be honest, mainly because the online swatches are very misleading. You can find some products in TK Maxx or B&M Bargains, but they have a limited stock and only 1% of the actual collection. Today I was doing some shopping in Ilford and in the mall there`s a small beauty stand, with various brands. Now most of the products they had were from W7 and while I was tempted to try everything, I sticked to the basics.
The first product I picked was Hollywood Bronze&Glow bronzer. Just look at it, doesn`t it give you the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar vibe? The packaging is a lot cheaper looking, but the shades look identical. On a first swatch, they seemed really pigmented, especially the highlighter. The bronzer is quite subtle, but that`s a change I quite like. Sometimes when a bronzer is really pigmented I struggle a lot to blend it, so something like this will be easier to work with. Last month I wore eyeliner daily, a first for me, so I also picked up the Automatic Eye Liner. It`s waterproof and jet black, but the tip is a bit chunkier than I expected, so I`m curious to see how it will work.
Another product that I picked was the Hide&Seek Correcting Quad. I wear more makeup in the A/W season, so I like to do the full routine
(primer, full coverage foundation, concealer, powder). And when I go out I like to look flawless, so hopefully this will last. Inside the quad, you find 4 creamy shades, each targeting a specific problem. The lilac combats redness, the nude conceals, the salmon hides dark circles and the champagne highlights. They seemed creamy and easy to blend, not that pigmented, but we`ll see how they are after I fully test them.
And last, but not least, I got 2 lip liner, a pink and a nude. Yup, they were not that creative in naming these. Anyway, moving on from the fact that they don`t have a proper name, they`re actually my favourite products from this haul. When I swatched them they were really creamy, pigmented, easy to use…if the lasting power is good as well, I`ll have to get 10 more in each shade.
I will write a proper review for each of these products in the next 2 weeks after I get a proper chance to test them. This was just a basic introduction, but I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know if you tried any of these or what would you like to try from this brand.
