What a shocker, not only did I manage to finish some products, but I was also a responsible hoarder and kept them for a future post. I mean, don`t get your hopes up, compared to other people I have a quantity the size of Tyrion Lannister (sorry, withdrawal kicking in), but for me, that`s a lot. I don`t know what`s the average time, but it takes me 2-3 months to get through shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, etc. And yes, I do take showers daily and wash my hair every other day, but I`m a tiny person, I don`t need as much as you giant people! It seems I`m on a roll, but I have to stop myself from rambling and making stupid puns, otherwise this will turn into a novel. So let’s just talk about the empties, shall we?
My favourite out of the bunch has to be the Clinique Clarifying Lotion, part of their 3 step care process. I have the type 2 skin, combination-dry, which means that I have a very dry area around my cheeks, but an oily T-Zone. This leaves my skin feeling clean, refreshed and less oily, without drying it. Also, whenever I have a breakout this helps reduce the healing process, it makes my spots less itchy and they disappear faster. While we`re at the skincare section, I also finished The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream. I don`t know what to say about it because it did nothing for me, literally nothing. I am a big fan of the Vitamin E range in general, but this had no effect. Because it`s a moisturizing cream I hoped it will leave my cheeks softer and less red and itchy, but I did not see anything major. I won`t repurchase it, so if you know a good cream for combination skin (
other than Vichy, which I love), let me know.
I also managed to finish the Soak Opera Shower Cream, part of Zoella`s beauty range. The design of this collection it`s gorgeous, it`s what draw me in, to be honest. Just look how cute the bottle looks, with its lace details! The shower gel has a very fresh scent and it was lovely to use. However, I prefer my shower gels to taste like a bakery, so I don`t know if I`ll buy this again.
As you can see, we have quite a hairy situation here. (last stupid pun, I swear) September is the month I finally finish the products I started in the summer and I tend to wash my hair daily, hence 3 hair care products today. My favourite is Lee Staford`s Hair Growth Treatment, which was recommended by Gabby from Velvet Ghost in one of her videos. I have very flat hair, it also breaks a lot, so I`m always looking for a wonder product. Now, don`t think this instantly turned me into a Disney Princess, but it was pretty damn close. I don`t know what it has inside and in a way I`m afraid to know, but my hair did grow faster than usual. Also, it was less prone to breaking and was incredibly soft to touch.
Because I was washing my hair almost daily, I used a milder shampoo. Pantene Pro-V Repair and Protect Light Shampoo was amazing for daily use because it did not weight my hair down at all. It strips all the impurities, but not the essential oils, leaving your hair clean and smooth. I also tested a conditioner from Dove, the Youthful Vitality one, for ageing hair. It was quite good though I don`t know if at my age I should use something like this.
My last 2 empties are from The Body Shop again, one coconut lip balm and one shea butter lip balm. I think these are amazing, not only do they leave your lips soft, but there`s also a great selection to choose from, all with good enough to eat scents. Also, the pots are quite big, so for the money you pay, they will last a lot longer than usual lip balms.
And there you have it, my September empties. I hope you enjoyed this post and my mumbles did not drive you mad, but then again, I write my posts they way I talk, so why change that? Let me know if you tried any of these and how did you like them.
