Considering how much I love watching good TV Shows, it`s a surprise I can run this blog. I mean, at the moment I watch 30, so how come I still have a social life? Oh yeah, I go to bed at obscene hours and in the mornings, I add tons of concealer to look alike. Now, besides soap operas or ”reality shows”, I will watch pretty much everything, from drama to comedy. It`s true, fantasy shows hold a special place in my heart, as do the teen shows, for a strange reason. September is a great month for TV junkies, because most of your favourite return, but you also have a chance to find new ones. Here are my top picks, the ones that really caught my attention.
1. Scream Queens
This is the show I was most excited about, loved the first episode, but I think a lot of people were expecting something else. I think people were disappointed that it took a bit of a Glee/Mean Girls route, rather than Scream/Psycho, but this is Ryan Murphy we`re talking about. And the show was not written in a serious tone, it`s supposed to be funny. And not only did I laugh, but I got intrigued for more.
Basically, 20 years after a pledge gone wrong Greek(the sorority system, not the Europeans) students are being murdered one by one. The killer might be predictable, but even so, Ryan is pretty good at giving you some: WTF moments. I found the cat great and truthfully I don`t get the Emma Roberts hate. Maybe she can`t do many roles, but she nails the bitchy part.
This is a TV adaptation of the 2011 movie and it looks really promising. I really like the idea that there`s something out there that makes you use all of your capacities, I think we have so many modern day struggles that will make us go mental at one point. Bradley Cooper(who`s also one of the producers) makes an appearance as a senator on the same drug and the main character is portrayed by Jake McDorman, Evan Chambers from Greek.
3. You, me and the Apocalypse
A comedy drama about Earth`s final days. Rather than focusing on only an individual, the show follows around a diversity of people, from the ordinary and boring bank manager who find out he has a felon twin to a rebel priest. Some of these people will interact in the funniest ways and some are even humanity`s last hope. It`s been a while since I saw a good comedy, hopefully, this is one of them.
As you can see it`s quite a short list, because I try to finish the shows I`m already watching. But truth be told I think there were not many exciting new releases, it`s been a while since I saw a September this bland. Anyway, let me know in the comments what TV shows are you planning to watch and if they are not on my list, I`ll check them out.
