You know that moment when someone else finds your collection of empty products and you try to sound like a normal person, saying that they`re all for a future post? Priceless! So yeah, my husband might think I am the next case on a hoarders TV show, but other than that, everything is peachy.
Unlike other people I don`t own that many products, hence, I manage to finish only 2-3 per month. So I decided that from now on, I will do an empties post every 2 months, so there`s more to talk about. I must admit while I found these types of posts dull before, now they are my favourite. I feel that if you finish a product, you do it because you love it and it`s not just testing for the sake of testing. Sure, there are some products that were good, but did not blow me away. But there are also others that I keep buying for years. So let’s separate the good from the exceptional, shall we?
I will start with my favourite out of all, the Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel. I think you know by now, I am obsessed with this stuff and every year I buy at least 2 or 3 bottles. The scent definitely reminds me of childhood, it smells like bubblegum and cotton candy and it`s everything you wished for a shower gel to be. I finished it in April, I thoroughly washed it and I can still feel the scent, how awesome is that? To be honest, I normally use cheap shower gels that are no more than 2 quids, but this is such a nice treat around the holidays. So yeah, as soon as Christmas is around the corner, I`ll get more bottles.
Sticking with the Lush theme, I also finished their Veganesse Hair Conditioner. While it`s really damaged, my hair also gets oily really fast, so I need something that nourishes, but it`s also really lightweight. This was pretty good, it helped detangle my hair, left it smooth and was not heavy at all. However, in the summer, I tend to wash my hair more often, so I switched for a heavier conditioner that provided more nourishment. I will buy this again in the winter, when I wash my hair only 2-3 times a week. If you`re thinking about buying it, you can read my review here.
I am also a massive The Body Shop fan, so, of course, I have one of their products featured. This scrub was part of a limited time Christmas edition and what a surprise, it has a sweet scent as well. Please don`t judge me on the fact that I like to smell like a big walking bakery, we all have issues! Besides smelling like vanilla Brulee, this scrub has other winning qualities, like being a good exfoliator, but also leaving the skin soft and moisturised. I will definitely buy this product again, it`s probably my favourite scrub of all times. Yup, even beats my trusty Sugar Crush from Soap and Glory.
One product that did not blow me away was the Fibrology hair mask from L`Oreal. Don`t get me wrong, it left my hair so soft and smooth, it was a dream to touch it. But this is advertised as a thickening mask and I did not see that. It`s definitely more of a nourishing mask…or maybe you have to use the whole trio in order for it to work? I don`t know, but like I said, while it was a good hair mask, I don`t think it delivered what was promised.
I have two more hair products to talk about. One is the Total repair Shampoo from Gliss, a product I always go back to when my hair needs some TLC. Normally, I use this whenever I colour my hair, it makes it look healthier and less dry. The last product is a sample from Redken, which again, was perfect when I dyed my hair blonde. I think it helped my colour last longer, but at the same time, I find the price ridiculous, so I won`t be buying it. If you constantly colour your hair it might be a good investment, but I only do it 2 times a year, so it`s not worth the money.
So there you have it, the products I used these past 2 months. I can finally throw them in the bin and make space for new ones. Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts on them?
