Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks

I never thought of myself as a lipstick kind of girl, I always believed mascara was my thing. Until yesterday, when I cleaned my makeup drawers and realised that I am the proud owner of 30 lip products (lipglosses and lip stains included). To some people, this may not seem much, but to me it is and I seriously need to put an end to this addiction. The only good outcome of this story is that I realised I forgot to review most of them and since I am on a spending ban, you will see lots of lipsticks featured this month. Today the spotlight is on my current favourite drugstore brand, Essence.

Essence Lipsticks

For those of you that don`t know, Essence is a very affordable drugstore brand, but at the moment, you can only find it in Wilko if you live in the UK. I tried quite a few products from them and some were definitely winners, but nothing beats these lipsticks in terms of quality. And imagine my surprise when I saw them featured on Essiebutton channel. She is probably my favourite Youtuber, I love her personality and the fact that she is so down to Earth. A lot of the big YouTubers seem to use only high-end products, but not this gal. She recommends a lot of drugstore products, including these lipsticks. I apologise in advance for the photos, it`s been raining for the past 2 days and I have really bad lighting, but I also need to post. I am sorry for the bad quality, but as Queen put it, the show must go on.

You can find a good selection of colours in the long lasting range, but I restrained myself and picked only 4. On a daily basis, when I go to work, I use shade 07 Natural Beauty, which it`s the prettiest nude pink I ever tried. This is perfect for those days when you want to achieve the no makeup look. I picked another shade very similar to this, which is shade 13 Love Me. It`s hard to tell them apart, but I think Love Me has more peach undertones while in Natural Beauty the pink undertones predominate. The lipstick that started this love affair and the one Estee was wearing is in shade 01 Coral Calling, a perfect peachy colour for Spring. It`s more coral than the pictures show it, trust me! In the end, to spice things a little, I got the shade 12 Blush My Lips, a dark fuchsia. I think this will look very nice when I go out and it`s more wearable than a red.

What I love about these lipsticks is the fact that they are very creamy and they don`t dry out your lips at all. They are very moisturising and comfortable to wear. They last for 3-4 hours without reapplying, which is quite good for a drugstore lipstick. In terms of pigmentation they are great, they apply nicely and provide lots of shine.

Have you tried these lipsticks before? What shade do you like the most out of all of these? Let me know in the comments.

P.S Don`t forget about my Giveaway, you can win a brow kit from Essence, a palette from Sleek, a Maybelline Colour Tattoo pot and a lipgloss from Carmex.

I think you can order them online, the postage is not that expensive from what I remember.
