I am not a fan of the Kardashians, but even I must admit, the contour trend would not have been so big without them. Now, their contour is a bit too much for my tastes, but I like adding a bit of definition to my face. I work mainly around my cheeks, I leave the nose and forehead to professionals. Because I don`t contour that often, I am by no means an expert, so there`s no point in investing in a high-end kit. I used to love the kit from Sleek until I spotted this little fellow.
This little kit comes with a bronzer, a highlighter and a blusher. Before we discuss those, I just want to talk a bit about packaging. Not a fan, to be honest. Usually, Makeup Revolution does good cases, perfect for travelling. This, however, looks more like a MUA design. (
and one thing I dislike about that brand is the design, sigh) It just looks like it would break if I carry it in my bag. Also, you get a line of a mirror, which I don`t really get. You either put a mirror where people can see themselves, or leave it like that.
Moving on to the actual content. The bronzer is really subtle, not too taupe or too brown. It`s really pigmented too, so you have to remember, less is more. I would advise you to use the tiniest amount, blend it and work from there. While you can`t really see it from the pictures, the highlighter shines more than a disco ball. It reminds me a bit of the Balm`s Mary-Lou Manizer, it terms of pigmentation. It really is my favourite from the kit, it adds a J.Lo glow and makes your face stand out. The last on, the blusher, got me a bit confused. To be honest, it looks like the bronzer and the highlighter had a baby and that`s the shade you get. I am very pale, so I don`t think that colour is for me. However, if I get a bit of a tan, I think this will make it stand out more. At the moment, I am using it as an eyeshadow:)) All of them have a powder texture, really easy to use and work with. They don`t crease or have any fallout, so nothing bad to say about them.
This kit costs only 3.50 pounds and Superdrug are having a 3 for 2 across all makeup, so it`s a real bargain. If you are new to contouring, I really recommend this product, as it is really easy to blend, the colours are not that strong and it`s really cheap.
P.S. If you get 3 makeup products, you also get a lovely bag to put them in, Way to go Superdrug!
Have you tried this product before? Are you a fan of the contour trend? Let me know, I love reading all your lovely comments.
