Spring Nails

Spring, my favourite season! Nature comes back to life, birds are singing, the sun is shining…But wait, I`m in London and it`s been cloudy for the past 3 days. Lucky me! The lighting was awful, so many of my posts are delayed until I can spot at least one sunshine ray. I did manage to take this one photo, though, so please don`t complain about the quality, I`m really doing my best. Getting back to the point of this post, though, one of the reasons why Spring is my favourite season is that I get the chance to go back to my boho style, full of colours and flowers. I do tend to match my nails sometimes, so most of the nail polishes I use are either very bright or light pastels. Yes, I am a woman of contrasts. Below I selected my most used nail polishes these past days.

  • Barry M. Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Guava

I talked about this nail polish so many times, but it`s so freakin` good. For me, this is a universal shade that I wear all year round, but I think it works best in Spring. Really good quality, it lasts for days and I just think it`s a colour that will suit anyone.

  • NYX Pink on Steroid

You know how when you are a little girl you are obsessed with pink and Barbies? Well, I was not that kid, I always liked black and grey and in high-school, I was really into the whole grunge style if you can call it like that. Well, after I turned 20 I started liking bright colours and last year I even bought some pink items. Normally this shade is not my cup of tea, but for whatever reason, I can`t stop wearing it. It just puts me in such a good mood, hard to explain.

  • Color Club in Breakfast At…

I`ll share something with you guys, I don`t really buy many nail polishes. Normally, if I have money I would rather spend it on makeup or skincare, those are things that I need more than a pretty shade on my hands. But I am very excited when I get nail polishes in my beauty boxes, saves me the trouble of getting them. This, like the NYX one, was a part of a past beauty box and I am very happy I got it because from what I understood it`s a limited edition. This is the nail polish that made me a big fan of pastels, so kudos for that.

  • Yves Rocher in shade 14 Rose

This just screams Spring, it`s such a cute baby pink. Again, this is a shade that will look good all year round, but in this season, it really stands out.

  • Nails Inc. in Copacabana Coral

I would like to thank all the magazines that keep on giving us free Nails Inc. polishes, we are truly grateful. It`s no secret, Nails Inc. is my favourite brand, but I can`t justify spending 4 pounds on a drugstore nail polish, let alone 14. I mean, they deserve the money because the quality is amazing, but if you are on a budget then you can`t really afford them. I got all my Nails Inc. polishes with magazines, so I`m very thankful for that. At the moment this is my favourite shade from them, looks really fun and young and goes perfectly with my floral dresses.

So there you have it, my most used nail polishes this month. Do you change your nail polish preferences when Spring comes? Do you prefer pastels or neons? Let me know in the comments below.

I absolutely adore that last coral-red shade! It's such a great hue to brighten up an outfit. To be honest, I'm terrible at painting my nails so I tend to leave them bare unless I get a manicure. I'm a bad blogger like that! :XXxMOmadame-ostrich.com
