April, where did you go? You were so much fun! I don`t know why, but it`s my favourite month. Blame it on Easter, the many birthday parties I have – the good times never cease! Also, work started to go great and that means extra money – more shopping. However, there`s been a shift in my purchases. Although I am quite the fashion addict, last month most of the products I bought were in the beauty department. Since I have only one day off, I don`t have time to play dress up, so there was no point in buying lots of clothes, just so they can sit in my closet. But I work 6 days a week, so I need to show a decent looking face at work. With this is mind, let`s move to April`s favourites:
Real Techniques brushes:
So I finally decided to give Real Techniques a try…I know, in beauty world they`re as common as dental floss, so what was I thinking? As hipster-ish as it may sound, I don`t like to buy products that everyone raves about. However, in this case, people are right: they really are amazing brushes.
- Foundation Brush: When I first used it, I looked like someone splashed yellow paint on my face. But to be completely honest, I`m not very patient, so I didn`t blend it:)) So the second time, I decided to watch some youtube tutorial: praise those makeup gurus that saved an idiot like me from disaster! As I was saying, with some new found knowledge, I was ready to get that flawless skin I always wanted. And guess what?It worked! Before I used to apply foundation with fingers, so the result was so different now. My skin looked like being airbrushed, no imperfections at all.
P.S. After two weeks I am proud to say that I mastered the secret of blending!
- Shading Brush: At first I was a bit disappointed because it`s not as soft as the foundation brush. But maybe that`s on purpose, for an easier application. This brush is really good for blending eyeshadows and I love the finish it gives.
MOA The Green Balm:
This is by far my favourite product from last month! It`s 100% natural, made in England and not tested on animals. It does such a great job at removing makeup, leaving your skin extremely soft. I did a review a few days ago, you can find it here.
Clinique All About Eyes Cream
I got this little gem on my Clinique gift box and until now it`s the best eye cream I ever tried. The formula is a mix between a cream and a gel but feels so lightweight. I love the fact that you don`t have to wait a long time for your skin to absorb it, a problem I had with many products before. After a month of using it, I am pleased with the result. It helped a lot with my puffy eyes and even though I still have dark circles, they are not that noticeable.
Maybelline Color Tattoo
I`ll be honest with you guys, I`m not a big fan of Maybelline. If I had to choose from high-street brands, I`ll go with Rimmel and maybe Revlon. However, these products are something else. I think you already noticed that I don`t like to spend a lot of time doing my makeup, especially in the mornings, when I have to go to work. These products are great if you don`t want something spectacular, they`re really easy to apply and stay put for hours. The only negative thing is that you don`t have a lot of colors to choose from, but maybe they will release new ones. (fingers crossed) You can find my review here.
Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment
If there was a contest for world`s most damaged lips, I`ll definitely be in top 3. Seriously, it`s like I spent 3 years in Sahara without water. I used a lot of products, but the results don`t last. So I decided to bring out the big guns and splurged on this little thing. Until now, I like what I`m seeing. My lips are definitely more hydrated and feel softer. You can read my review here.
Tangle Teezer The Original
Will the best hairbrush please stand up, please stand up? When I first saw this brush, my reaction was a big WTF. I mean, it looks like something you would use on a horse…However, the guy (creator) on the box looked quite trustworthy, so I decided to try it. Don`t ask me on what I base my purchases, my mind has a mind of its own:)) After using it, I can see why horses love being brushed:p The handle (or lack of it, as you have to put the brush in your palm) actually works in your favor, you get a better grip. The mix of small and long teeth detangle your hair from roots to end, without any pulling. You can also use it on wet hair without having to worry about any damage. A wonder product indeed.
