For a dramatic beginning, I`ll state that eyeshadow is the only makeup product I couldn`t live without. I know most of the people would choose foundation or mascara, but they are not that appealing to me. To be honest, I still don`t know how to contour and the whole process of blending foundation is so annoying to me. But eyeshadows are easy, even for a beginner like me. You can create lots of different looks though in my opinion nothing can beat a good nude palette. After all, makeup should enhance your natural features, not create a mask.
Boots are currently having a 3 for 2 offer on makeup, so, of course, I spent my extra money in there
(at least my advantage card points are growing). I picked something from every brand that participated, most of them being products highly praised in the world of beauty bloggers. I was always curious about cream eyeshadows and I know many bloggers love Maybelline`s Color Tattoo range, so I decided to give it a try. I went for shade 35-On the Bronze and shade 65-Pink Gold.
You can choose from a variety of neutrals and even more eclectic colors, but I wanted something you can wear on a daily basis.
Pink Gold is a shimmery pink, that you can wear it alone or as a base for other eyeshadows. I know in the picture it looks a bit too shiny, but once you blend it in, it gives you a natural healthy glow. On the Bronze is a gorgeous shimmery brown and it`s perfect for a neutral look. Both colors are very creamy and blend in seconds. Seriously, they saved my life! (
dramatic cue) As much as I love playing with my MUA palette, in the mornings I need something that works fast. So I dip my finger in the pot and just glide the color over the eyelids (in my case this works better than using an eyeshadow brush). I also like the fact that you don`t need a lot of product, they`re highly pigmented. And if you are wondering about how long it lasts: trust me, the answer is a lot. I don`t know who would wear it for 24 hours, though, maybe an insomniac? But I use it before I go to work, and after 10 hours the color is still there, nicely put and without any crease.
After trying a cream eyeshadow, it will be hard to go back to the powdery ones, sigh. However, cream eyeshadows have a downside. Yes, you have a brown, a green, a blue..etc. But you don`t have more shades of these colors. So for a professional look, I still think I will have to use my MUA Heaven and Earth palette.
Conclusion: I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. I`m actually talking myself into buying more bold colors, to see how they`ll look. For a drugstore product, they have reasonable prices and very good quality. A great formula with pigmented colors that stay put for hours.
