My April Birchbox edition is here and I must say I like it. Finally, some products I know and I can use. (btw, still confused about the cellucup thinghie from last edition) This month`s edition ,,Good enough to eat“ was inspired by local food markets, so you can expect delicious scents and pretty pastel colours. You will also find your lovely and trustworthy cards, filled with recipes, cute photos and top ideas. Now, what did I get?
The Balm: How `Bout Them Apples? Cheek & Lip Cream
I think this is the star product of the month. First of all, how cute is the packaging? I love the vintage vibe it brings. Pin-up girls and shirtless cowboys?Howdy! According to the card this is ,,an easy-to-blend cream that offers a gorgeous, long-lasting pop of colour to cheeks and lips.“ I`m a sucker for multipurpose products, so this is definitely my favourite. I got the shade Pie, which is a lovely coral red. The palette costs 26 pounds and has 6 colours: Cider, Cobbler, Pie, Crisp, Candy, Caramel, all a mix of red, coral and orange. When I get 100 points I will definitely buy this one, the shades are too gorgeous to pass by.
Color Club Gala`s Gems Nail Polish
This is a Birchbox-exclusive polish, in collaboration with London-based spanish blogger Gala Gonzalez. You had 4 colours to choose from: Gold Struck, Aquamarine Azulino, Breakfast at… and Heirloom Pearls. I went for Breakfast at…, which is a ,,fresh, pearly green inspired by the English countryside.“ When I saw this shade I instantly thought of spring and cute pastel dresses, so I can`t wait to try it.
One Love Organics Skin Savior Waterless Beauty Balm
There`s nothing I love more (
in terms of beauty, just so we`re clear) than an organic and cruelty free product. It contains ,,cold-pressed plants oils, including jojoba and ingredient-of-the-moment coconut oil, to cleanse, moisturise, illuminate and even tame strands.“ The scent is somewhere between floral and sweet, if I make any sense, but it smells quite nice. You can use it in two ways, as a cleanser or a cream, which is a big plus. When I applied it on my face it got very creamy and I needed only a small amount of product.
TOMMYGUNS Pomegranate&Orange Flower Shampoo
Have you seen that movie with Freddie Prinze Jr. and Julia Stiles, where he gets dumped and he ends up drinking her shampoo? If it smelled like this, I understand why he did it:)) This is a product suitable for daily use, but with the full-size bottle having 250 ml, I`ll keep it for special occasions. ,,Active ingredients include Pomegranate which helps gently cleanse whilst protecting the hair from harsh environment. Orange Flower to soothe&bring out the natural shine whilst highlighting fairer tones.“ As I said, it smells divine and it has an oil-like consistency, so I`m extremely curious to see what it can do.
I also got a small back of Sweet&Salty Popcorn, which I ate while writing this post. There was also a lovely Lord&Berry Couture Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil, but my camera`s batteries died( buying rechargeable ones was a stupid idea, because they don`t last), so I couldn`t take a picture of it. But it`s a sleek black eyeliner, which is welcome, because you never have enough black kohls.
Overall, I liked this box a lot more than the previous one, maybe because I got products that I know I`ll use. What`s your opinion on this month edition? Is it a yay or a nay from you?
