When I was 17 years old, my mum came from a trip to Germany and brought me a Body Shop shower gel and body lotion set. It was love at first sight (or rather smell). However, back then we didn`t have their shop in my hometown, so for a couple of years, I had to wait. Finally, after 3 years ( but I`m not sure to be completely honest), the first Body Shop opened. But now I had another problem: the prices were too high for what was/is the average wage in my country. So I had to wait again…
Here we are now, February 2014. I live in London and have my own job…and you know what? The prices are not expensive at all for what I make now(not that I make a lot of money anyway, but still). So I decided to treat myself to these little things I`ve been lusting for years. Here`s what I got:
- Shea Lip Butter: I can`t tell you how happy I am with it. I always have cracked lips, but this balm leaves them very soft and moisturized
- Chocomania Shower Gel: the smell is incredible, I think I got addicted to it (I have it near my bed and I smell it every 5 minutes) Another plus: it`s soap-free
- Coconut Body Butter
- Ginger Sparkle Body Butter
- Brazil Nut Body Butter
- Vitamin E Cool BB Cream
As you can expect from The Body Shop, they all smell amazing. But what I really like about this brand, is the fact that it`s against animal testing. Also, their ingredients are fair trade. This means that producers from developing countries get a better price and better trading conditions.
Now, in case you are wondering why I bought so many body butters, I`m going to tell you a little annoying secret: I have a weird skin problem on my arms. So, even though everything else is fine, on my arms my skin is very dry and rough. I used lots of body lotions, but I found out that the only one that actually makes a difference is body butter. So I use it twice a day, mornings and evenings.
What I`m really curious about is the BB cream. On the bottle, it says: freshen your look, 12 hr quenching moisture and protection. I read lots of great reviews about the Vitamin E skin range, so I have high expectations. It blends really well and I like how my skin feels after I apply it. What I don`t like is the fact that it doesn`t have UVA/UVB protection, but other than that I think it`s a good BB cream.
