Fleetwood Mac, also known as Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, is the debut studio album by British blues rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 24 February 1968. It is the only album by the band not to feature Christine McVie in any capacity.

This page is dedicated to the great Peter Green era of Fleetwood Mac .

Peter green’s fleetwood mac. When Blue Horizon boss Mike Vernon arrived at the studio in 1966 to produce John Mayall‘s second Bluesbreakers album ‘Hard Road’, he noticed a new amp and no sign of Eric Clapton. Vernon was shocked that ‘God’ was not in the band, but Mayall said, Don’t worry, we’ve got somebody better! They were big boots to fill, but Peter Green filled them and put his own stamp on the music. A few months later Peter left with Fleetwood to form his own band and called that Fleetwood Mac too, even though McVie was still in The Bluesbreakers and reluctant to leave. Bob Brunning filled in on bass until McVie was finally persuaded to join.

This "archival material" doesn't really hold its value in repetitive listening. Unfortunately these bits are not easily skipped, since they are part of the original album tracks. Only option is to FF tracks until their real starting point is found. I don't find bonus tracks very interesting either. Five of these tracks are IMHO inferior and often incomplete takes of album tracks.

Fleetwood Mac, the self-titled debut album, was released in 1968, and was one of the highlights of the late British Blues movement, climbing to the slot in the UK album charts without producing one single, and managing to stay in the charts for 37 weeks. It was a traditional blues album true to form, but one that also showcased Peter Green's budding singing and songwriting skills. 180 gram audiophile vinyl.
