The Crimson Idol (1992).

The Crimson Idol is the fifth studio album by heavy metal band . The album charted within the top 40 in five countries. It is a concept album, telling the story of the rise and fall of a fictional rock star named Jonathan Steel.

Will I be alone this morning Will I need my friends? Something just to ease away my pain No one ever sees the loneliness behind my face I am just a prisoner to my fame

s fifteenth studio album, Golgotha, was released on October 2, 2015 . toured in 2017 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the release of The Crimson Idol

The recording of the new album "Re-Idolized" and the accompanying film for "The Crimson Idol" has developed unexpected delays. This will make it necessary for . to withdraw from the 4 upcoming Festivals that were scheduled for this Summer. This was essential for the band to complete the album and film, to make the scheduled release in September, and the ensuing Tour in the fall. "Re-Idolized: The 25th Anniversary of The Crimson Idol" The previously unreleased Film & Soundtrack united after 25 years! (Read Below). Check out the first official.

That album was the Crimson Idol, and this is its story. The introductory track 'The Titanic Overture' simply sets the mood of the album. A soft acoustic guitar along with some soft vocals shortly lead into a raging electric guitars and drum assault for the remainder of the song. Apart from the beginning and the end, the song is simply an instrumental and after several listens it is apparent that the music is from other songs on the album. The song then leads into the albums first real track ' The Invisible Boy'

The Idol and Hold on to My Heart are an absolute treat to listen to and give this album a meaningful balance. The finisher The Great Misconceptions Of Me is the monster around. Clocking at almost ten minutes in length, this tells The Story of Jonathan from start to finish basically doing the job of what one may refer to as a Wren and Martin influenced summary writing. In my words, this could be called a Heavy Metal Summary. The riffs and the slow acoustic breakdowns in between give this track a genuine touch altogether. Highly recommended to all long running . P fans and also those who would like a little deviation from the same old conventional metal sound. This is the true heights of imagination.

Concept album, partly autobiographical for Blackie Lawless. The story revolves around a disaffected youth who becomes a rock star but gets tangled in the machinations of the music business. Blackie Lawless attributes the initial inspiration for the album to The Who's Pete Townshend (himself a veteran of the l concept album), who encouraged him to "go for it". Music videos were made for "The Idol" and "Hold on to my Heart"
