The Box Tiger is comprised of Sonia Sturino (vocals/guitar), Jordan Stowell (guitar), Cam Jones (bass) and Lauren Chan (drums). The 4-piece band from Toronto, ON, and Portland, ME, works tirelessly at crafting a sound that is consumable, but undeniably unique. We’ve got all our friends lined up for it It’s a hit hit hit so hit me. We can see them all standing looking slick Perfect fit fit fit don’t fit me. You say that they’ve got not hope for the show High horse get high, on the wings because we can fly. We, we could be faceless Live in our dreaming state Where life can wait. Look at all of them pretty broken things So fix fix fix, fix me.

22 March 2016 ·. Hey Everyone, Music has and continues to be the biggest passion in my life, writing and performing it defines me and has been the source of most, if not all, happiness in my life. For the last 7 years, The Box Tiger has been the outlet for that passion. A project I started at 19 in a basement in my small hometown suburb outside of Toronto. Every part of it has been a journey, helping me grow as a musician and as a person. For anyone who knows me personally, you know The Box Tiger has been a labor of love, it's been my whole life for the last 7 years. So my parting from the project has not been an easy process, but again, something I had to do creatively. That being said, I'll continue my journey as a musician (along with Cam) in my new project, Weakened Friends, some of you may know it, for others I hope you welcome it into your lives like you did The Box Tiger.

And yes, while The Box Tiger is, collectively, a very talented group of musicians, it's Sturino that is the true standout. As a singer, she's been positively compared to Florence Welch, and while I won't fully agree or disagree, she possesses a vocal range that you don't often hear. Unfortunately, the band has no shows scheduled in the near future. They've been touring around for the last few months in support of the album, and I'd imagine that more dates will be announced sooner rather than later. Fact is, this is a band that you're going to hear a lot from over the next little while.
