David Rimmer (born January 20, 1942 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian experimental film director. David Rimmer studied economics and mathematics at the University of British Columbia and graduated in 1963. For the next two years he traveled around the world, which led him to decide that he was not interested on pursuing a career in business.

These Fleeting Moments, their 11th studio release, is 70 minutes of powerful, gorgeously yearning tracks born from the same place as their 90s classics Remnants of a Deeper Purity and A Chaos of Desire. For this album, Sam says, I picked up threads of our 90s sound. I wrote those intense, passionate songs that Oscar delivers so wonderfully. Sam’s thought-provoking lyrics invite self-examination without becoming too weighty - the earnest themes explored on the album have a palatable sense of optimism in the face of adversity and are buoyed by the ebb and flow of the band’s superb performances.

From notes that appear on Artist's Soundcloud page:
"FLEETING IMAGES for Computer Generated Sounds

Fleeting Images uses the POD system for computer synthesis and composition developed by Barry Truax at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver and was composed in 1985.

Environmental sound images based on real recorded experiences develop during the piece. The active, rhythmic textures are suggestive of the dynamism of nature - birds, insects and the bubbling energy of geothermal activity while the long sustained sounds evoke images of waves crashing on rocky coastlines mixed with the humming of telephone wires across vast open plains.
Fleeting Images was awarded the International Electroacoustic Studios Prize (ex aequo) in 1986."
