E Street Band performs "Johnny B. Goode" with Chuck Berry and Bruce Springsteen. Get More Artist Stories. The original E Street Band, the one that made Springsteen’s first album, Greetings From Asbury Park, New Jersey (1973), featured Bruce, Federici, David Sancious, Vini Lopez, Garry Tallent and Clarence Clemons, who was the late-comer. The story that he first arrived at a joint on the boardwalk in the middle of a near-hurricane only sounds like a fable; it actually happened. If that does not sound like much, you never saw Clarence, who, even when his body began to fail him, had a transcendent physical presence out of proportion to even his own large stature. Give or take Little Richard, there has been no more commanding presence-commanding without moving a muscle-in rock history.

Bruce and the E Street band are terrific performers. As an audience member, you almost feel like you are part of the show because you sing every song with them and dance and just enjoy every moment. Bruce never disappoints. Bruce Springsteen became an American pop-culture icon and the band enjoyed huge success worldwide with sold-out stadium tours and numerous top 10 singles. In 1999 Bruce Springsteen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and over the years the act has won numerous Grammy and Golden Globe Awards while continuing to rock at sell-out shows the world over.
