Only for completionists (0%). This compilation album is all I've ever heard from the band though, and while there's enough to convince me that Crack The Sky is a good rock band, I can safely say that their brand of art-rock is certainly going to disappoint many prog-rock fans. With five tracks off 1975's Crack The Sky, four off 1976's Animal Notes, three off 1978's Safety In Numbers, three off the 1980's White Music and just the one off 1981's Photoflamingo, this compilation does seem to offer a nice overview of Crack The Sky's best material, although.
This Captain Oi! reissue adds six raw and rocking Crack tracks, including their revved up version of Slade's "Cum on Feel the Noize" (complete with a nod and a wink to the Pistols). Although these bonus tracks don't quite hit the highs that the album does, they are still worthy of inclusion. And you say you've never heard of the Crack? Track Listing.

Released in 2009, Crack the Skye is Mastodon’s fourth LP and second for Warner Bros. The band’s third consecutive concept album, this one charts the journey of a paraplegic boy who astral travels too close to the sun and winds up in the body of Rasputin. Regarding the creation of the album, drummer Brann Dailor stated in an interview: It will be two and a half years. It’s everything we wanted to do as a band at this point.
