AMM. Later During a Flaming Riviera Sunset, 06:51. Ailantus Glandulosa, 05:31. What Is There In Uselesness to Cause You Distress?, 03:01.

The first recording by these pioneers of electro-acoustic improvisation, AMMMusic stands the test of time both as a remarkably prescient session and as an utterly powerful and deep piece of 20th century music. Drummer Eddie Prevost's superb and detailed liner notes document AMM's early history, including the confusion engendered not only in audiences and critics but even in the band members themselves, unsure if they were in a free jazz ensemble, a contemporary classical group, neither, or both.

Dusho
Perfect reissue, fantastic sound quality. Don't hesitate to buy it.

Debeme
High quality vinyl with nice cardboard sleeve, great!!!

Danial
While I can appreciate this LP as a artifact of it's time and understand it was influential in the developing UK psychedelic scene, particularly on Syd Barrett's guitar playing, as a listening experience this is just a bore. I bought an original of this several years ago and expected something quite mind blowing, but got modern 'serious' avant guard classical music with nothing to grab onto in the form of rhythm, melody or even mad freeform psychedelic happenings. I found it totally dull, formal and unmemorable and I would be amazed if anyone listened to this for fun. Opening the window and listening to street noise or even sitting in silence is much more rewarding.

Kanek
That's strange as I listened to this for the first time on AKG headphones the other day and It was, unintentionally, one of the most astonishing psychedelic experiences I've ever had. It's wild intoxicating music, anything but boring.

Jox
Ha ha, fair point. I bought it because it kept getting mentions in relation to the UK psychedelic underground of '67 and I probably should have done more research. I expected experimental, just not so totally improvised and formless.

Umi
You bought a free improvisation record expecting melody and rhythm???
