Through The Looking Glass 鏡の向こう側 ‎(CD, Album, RE). CS Record. My high quality mp3s of Midori Takada's masterpiece sound inconceivably better than the vinyl version. As with many other cases of re issues.

Through The Looking Glass was Takada's first solo LP and one of her landmark creative works. She was also part of Mkwaju Ensemble, a trio originally led by Joe Hisaishi that explored African-influenced polyrhythms and was featured on Chee Shimizu's 2016 Better Days compilation. The soft chimes and bird calls of "Mr. Henri Rousseau's Dream" evoke the landscapes of the French painter. The album's cover art, by Yoko Ochida, also echoes Rousseau, whose jungle scenes were a product of imagination rather than experience.

I met Midori Takada in London at the end of a successful European tour in promotion of 2017’s Through The Looking Glass reissue. The previous night at a sold-out Café Oto had witnessed a mesmerising percussive performance by her that was by turns serene, ceremonial, theatrical, poetic, and thunderously loud. Elegantly dressed in modernist Tokyo style, she was humble and friendly in person. Deep thinking and strongly opinionated on the subject of music, she has an encyclopaedic knowledge garnered through a lifetime of exploration and study.

This is the vinyl rip for Midori Takada - Through The Looking Glass One of the most enticing and truly intoxicating pieces of recent years, Midori Takada's Through The Looking Glass is a very dreamlike journey in 4 chapters. Beyond its very impressive soundscapes and overall atmosphere, it's well known for its innovative recording techniques. Here's some information about how the tracks came to be: - The title of the album, Through The Looking Glass, was adopted from Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland. That Accelerando is thhe most aggressive progression on the album. As the tempo gradually increases, the piano and reed organ slowly build a wall of sound. The acceleration directs the listener's attention inward, towards the music itself, as opposed to its performance.

Through the Looking Glass is the 11th studio album (though counted as the 12th album overall - see Toto XIV) by the American band Toto. It was released in 2002, three years after their last studio release, Mindfields. The album consists of covers versions of songs that have inspired the band

Palto Flats and We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records present the highly-anticipated reissue of Japanese percussionist Midori Takada’s sought after and timeless ambient/minimal album Through The Looking Glass, originally released in 1983 by RCA Japan. The result is alternatively.

Midori Takada is the percussive mastermind behind Mkwaju Ensemble, as well as a member of the free-jazz trio Ton-Klami. This is her only solo release, and it’s gorgeous, comprised of percussion (mostly marimba, as well as what sounds like traditional Japanese drums), shakuhachi, and field recordings (mostly birds).

Through The Looking Glass is a jazz related soundtracks music album recording by MIDORI TAKADA released in 1983 on CD, LP/Vinyl and/or cassette.
