The Desperadoes’ deft blend of charm and melancholia was captured on a series of excellent singles, including ‘The Rain Fell Down’ and ‘And If The Sky Should Fall’, although their lone album, Nixon, revealed a more forthright perspective. The Desperadoes split up at the end of the decade, unable to fully exploit their substantial early promise.
