American Thighs is the debut studio album by American alternative rock band Veruca Salt. It was originally released through Minty Fresh on September 27, 1994. The title is a reference to a line from the AC/DC song "You Shook Me All Night Long".
Album: American Thighs, 1994. Veruca Salt - All Hail Me - San Francisco, Live, 7-10-15, front row, Slim's. Nina and Louise back together again! With a new album! Other Tidbits: 'Ghost Notes' was released on July 10th, the same day as the concert. Many fans were listening to it while waiting for the show to start. Spiderman '79 was not on the printed setlist, but the band decided to play it, probably because of all the fan-shouted requests for it, lol. SF was the 2nd show of their 2015 tour.
Veruca Salt took shape in early 1992, when Chicago residents Louise Post and Nina Gordon began touring the local folk circuit. Both were competent singers and guitarists, and a year's worth of coffeehouse performances fueled their desire to recruit additional members for a full-fledged band. Undeterred, Post regrouped Veruca Salt as her own project. Now boasting a revised lineup including guitarist Stephen Fitzpatrick, bassist Suzanne Sokol, and drummer Jimmy Madla, the band left Geffen Records (which had been swallowed by a corporate merger) and inked a new record deal with Beyond. They also entered the studio to record Resolver, a fiery album that dealt with Gordon's departure and Post's failed relationship with Dave Grohl.
