My favorite on this pack is the Ratcliffe mix. Its the final closing track on Danny Howells' GU27 mix cd. Its a very warm and genuine piece of music. Aside from the flowing melodics and bass, my favorite has to be those little drummer boy esque snaps that hit over top. Its such an odd combination of sounds but it comes together like a perfect orchestra. A real work of art this is and frankly I think its a bit under appreciated.

Carl's remix of Hot On The Heels is a favorite record for a set and never leaves the bag. It casts a net over much of what I want to hear appear in this kind of mutant techno. just pure future music. What makes this even better are the Two Lone Swordmen remixes. Almost a shame they're not on two different plates to stretch it to instr.-voc-instr.

Interesting experiment but something TG probably hated to the present day. I truly doubt that some who remixed one of their 'hits' (Basement Jaxx for instance) ever sat down and listened to a certain '2nd annual report'... TG probably laugh about it now but in reality it's sad seeing such outsiders selling out on a dancefloor. So the last laugh is certainly not on them....

What can you say about these tracks? Both over 25 years old, hugely influential on all dance music that came after. Almost all the remixers have used a light touch, respect and almost reverence is clearly audible. In fact, the only people to do something really new are Carter Tutti, AKA one half of Throbbing Gristle - Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti - taking both 'Hot on the heels of love' and 'United' to create something new. Throbbing Gristle were usually wilfully difficult to listen two, but these two track, in any form, are among their most accessible and these remixes more than do them justice.
