referencing Recloose Presents Jigsaw Music, CD, Mixed, 5486. While this is obviously a Pro-tools type mix, you have to look beyond that and say that this is one of the most consistant mixes ever in the future-soul, deep techno, deep house range. Here is a producer highlighting other great producers, and finding common ground in all sorts of funky but remarkably different tracks.

As soon as Recloose burst onto the scene with his 1998 debut EP for Planet E, he garnered a modest yet ardent cult of enthusiasts who advocated his production work as well as his DJ sets. With each successive year came another EP - Spelunking (1999), Can't Take It (2000), Can't Take It Remixes (2001) - each reaffirming the young and still relatively unknown Detroit artist's commendable reputation among those in the know

Old and new music were carefully combined into a fancy fresh sound. The first compilation release reflecting this Eskimo ethos came out in June 2000: Eskimo: Various Artists And Many Others. This first volume was compiled by Dirk, Mo & Benoelie and featured 70’s disco and funk as well as pop-soul, obscure acid hip house and new soul gem Revival by Martine Girault. Throughout the years, Eskimo grew into an independent label that presented new talent such as Lindstrom & Prins Thomas, who released their successful debut album in 2005 with Eskimo Recordings. This led to several releases with the like-minded Aeroplane, who immediately caused a splash across Europe and particularly in the UK, becoming the label’s most recognized act.

My copy has tracks D1 & D2 around the other way with the Recloose track first.

This is a 5 star mix by Recloose, however the CD release is obviously based around a mixtape he put out a couple of years prior to this. This mixtape is an even more coherent and enjoyable mix... it is possible. Not claiming to own the mixtape but was passed a copy and have been listening to it on and off for 10yrs or so now. (TBH don't really listen to this CD anywhere near as often)WAV/MP3 copies of the mixtape can be downloaded from various places on the net, just search for "The Move Recloose mixtape"

Morad
well, nothing really to add, just wanted to confirm that this mix cd is superb, and already the transition between Recloose's "Can't Take It" (Herbert Mix) into Dan Electro's "Down is the Power" is truely worth buying this masterpiece!

While this is obviously a Pro-tools type mix, you have to look beyond that and say that this is one of the most consistant mixes ever in the future-soul / deep techno / deep house range. Here is a producer highlighting other great producers, and finding common ground in all sorts of funky but remarkably different tracks. There are even a few spots where his turntablist skills make an impact. The liner notes say that it is for the bedroom, but I think it is more danceable than Recloose gives it credit for. My personal favorites are his transition from Herbert's perfectly fucked up house dub of Recloose's own "Can't Take It" into the bizarre gospel chunky-funk of Dan Electro's "Down is the Power"; as well as dropping the brilliant King Kooba disco with horn stabs and Jazz scat remix of Classen Collective's "New Born" right after the biggest broken beat song ever, Opaque's huge remix of "The Crossing" by P'Taah. This cd was so dope I went out and bought all the 12"s I could find with the same songs on them, because everyone is top quality. Five stars all the way, buy this mix!
