Hiroko Nakamura – 4th Prize winner, 7th International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (1965). Hiroko Nakamura started her piano tuition at the age of four, under the tutelage of Akiko Igushi at the Toho Gakuen School of Music. Later she studied with Leonid Kochański who prepared her for participation in the National Music Competition where she won 1st prize (1958). In 1960, she entered the Music Conservatoire in Tokyo and also made her debut with orchestra, playing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major.

Hiroko Nakamura (中村 紘子 Nakamura Hiroko, July 25, 1944 – July 26, 2016) was a Japanese pianist. Born Hiroko Fukuda in Yamanashi, she grew up in Tokyo. She began to study piano at the age of 3 at Toho Gakuen School of Music under Aiko Iguchi. In 1959, whilst a student at Chutobu Junior High School, she won first prize at the National Music Competition of Japan at age 15. In 1963, she began piano studies at the Juilliard School of Music, and studied under Rosina Lhévinne
