Stuntman (Edgar Froese album). Stuntman is the fifth solo album released by Tangerine Dream leader Edgar Froese, in 1979, following the release of Tangerine Dream's album Force Majeure. As with most of his solo albums between 1974 and 1983, Froese remixed the album with a new cover.
If nothing else, it marks a departure from his band's tendency to make an album out of two 20-minute epics; Froese ups the structure a bit with shorter pieces, and more of them. The opening (and title) track's thematic elements and major-key harmonizing run the risk of falling flat, but at just over four minutes, it's tolerable

The original "Stuntman" album by Edgar Froese dated from 1979. The original carried a photograph of a crash helmet. Stuntman" has always been an altogether more polished affair than many of Edgar Froese's other solo albums. Happily, too, this album is free from all traces of the ponderous self-indulgence to which solo Froese efforts can be more than a little prone. The tunes here do tend to be a little on the cute side, even for Froese, but at least he seems to have recognised this and, for once, nothing ever outstays its welcome. The lead synthesiser voices tend to be very sweet, too, and so, generally, it all works well and there are no tracks that could be called at all bad on this album.
