Overkill is the second album by Motörhead, released in 1979. It was their first for Bronze Records, and peaked at on the UK charts. The album had a big impact in the British punk culture of that time. This is the perfect Motorhead album, if someone wants to get started with Motorhea. ook no further.
Overkill is arguably one of the best and most important albums in the history of hard rock and heavy metal, marking as it does the moment when Motörhead first unleashed the ferocious musical attack they would become famous for. Combining a love of rock'n'roll, with the fury and energy of punk, nothing quite like this had ever been heard before and they quickly became pretty much the only band that appealed to rock fans and punk kids alike. Opening track "Overkill" is a declaration of intent from it's breathtaking double-kick intro through some gloriously manic soloing.

Overkill" starts off this album with the famous double pedal drum beats. Lemmy is at his best on this track. Eddie is blazing on the guitar, and Phil Taylor is phenominal. By the standards of 1979 this album was the purest form of Overkill. With Lemmy's brutal and unique vocals, Phil Taylor's aggressive drumming, and Eddie's take no prisoners style of playing the guitar Motorhead was destined for more fame and attention.
