My Generation is the debut studio album by English rock band the Who, released on 3 December 1965 by Brunswick Records in the United Kingdom. In the United States, it was released on 25 April 1966 by Decca Records as The Who Sings My Generation, with a different cover and a slightly altered track listing.

The Who have been with several labels over the years. In the United Kingdom and elsewhere outside North America, they were signed originally to Brunswick Records. In 1966, they moved to Polydor Records and took the rights to their Brunswick recordings with them. They created and moved to Track Records the following year with distribution by Polydor. They left Track in 1974 and returned to Polydor directly, remaining with the label ever since.

The Who - My Generation (1965).

With all of the compilations the Who have released over the years, it's easy to forget that their studio output boils down to a mere 11 albums. What makes it so remarkable is that the band's first six LPs – from 1965's The Who Sings My Generation to 1973's Quadrophenia – are all classics, essential records from rock's golden age. Very few artists rival their streak. But where should you start? And which records should you avoid? The following list of the Who Albums, Ranked From Worst.

Notes

Incredibly Rare 2006 Japanese Limited Edition 19-disc Box Set. Includes 'My Generation', 'A Quick One', 'The Who Sell Out', 'Tommy', 'Live At Leeds', 'Who's Next', 'Quadrophenia', 'Odds and Sods', 'The Who By Numbers', 'Who Are You', 'Face Dances', 'It's Hard', 'BBC Sessions', and The Kids Are Alright, Tommy, and Quadrophenia soundtracks. Each is presented in a mini-LP picture sleeve with the complete set housed in a picture box with iconic 'target' and Union Jack images. The individual mini LPs contained in this box do not have obi strips. However, Disc Union produced a set of 14 promo obis and two additional collector boxes (replicas of the My Generation UK and US covers) which were given to purchasers of the box set only after they returned a coupon with their proof-of-purchase. It is believed that between 100 and 200 of these sets were ever made.

this is a very nice japan only cd box set, all discs (including live albums the odds and sods compilation and both tommy and quad soundtracks are included here all in one nice large box), the cd sleeves replicate the original lp sleeves BUT they where no obi strips added on this one japan edition, regardless there where very few of these made back in 2006 and this was very very limited to, if you want everything from my generation (1965) through its hard (1982) you will be very happy as bonus tracks and japan only inserts are included.....
