Echo & the Bunnymen is the fifth studio album by the English post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen, their last with drummer Pete de Freitas, who died in 1989 in a motorcycle accident, aged 27. The album was produced by Laurie Latham who recorded the album in Germany, Belgium, London and Liverpool; this followed an aborted attempt at recording the album without de Freitas and with producer Gil Norton.

Echo & the Bunnymen (formed in 1978) are a rock band from Liverpool, England. The members include Ian McCulloch, Will Sergeant and Les Pattinson. Their first album was called "Crocoldiles" which was released in 1980 and made the UK Top 20, which was great news for the band whilst starting out. Their second album "Heaven Up Here" that came out the following year reached number 10 on the UK Album Chart

1997 EP by Echo & the Bunnymen. The EP contains two songs from the band's 1997 album, Evergreen, "Evergreen" and "Don't Let It Get You Down"; two songs from the band's 1997 appearance at the Glastonbury Festival, "Rescue" and "Altamont"; and "Forgiven", a track recorded for the Robert Elms Show on Greater London Radio.

After leaving Echo & the Bunnymen in 1988 to pursue a solo career, vocalist Ian McCulloch released two albums that were not commercial successes. After embarking on a tour of the United States in 1996, Electrafixion eventually gave in to fan pressure and began to introduce Echo & the Bunnymen material to their live set. Sergeant felt that as the band were playing Echo & the Bunnymen songs, they might. as well reform Echo & the Bunnymen; however, McCulloch was initially opposed to the idea.

By the time of their debut album, 1980's Crocodiles - a moderate UK hit - the drum machine had been replaced by Pete de Freitas. Their next, the Heaven Up Here, reached the Top Ten in 1981, as did 1983's Porcupine and '84's Ocean Rain. Echo & the Bunnymen are a British Post-punk band formed in Liverpool in 1978. The original line-up consisted of Ian McCulloch (of The Crucial Three), Will Sergeant and Les Pattinson

Echo & the Bunnymen toured Scandinavia in April 1985, performing cover versions of songs from Television, the Rolling Stones, Talking Heads and The Doors. Recordings from the tour emerged as the semi-bootleg On Strike. Unfortunately for the band, Ocean Rain proved to be a difficult album to follow up, and they could only re-emerge in 1985 with a single, "Bring on the Dancing Horses" (UK No. 21), and a compilation album, Songs to Learn & Sing, which made No. 6 in the UK album chart.
