Also, almost by definition, jazz has not been a seasonal or transitional music as are some other forms of contemporary music such as pop music. This in turn means that a vast majority of all recorded jazz will have to be considered for this list of a hundred. There are further factors, wheels within wheels as it were. The working girl in this song must be one of the Stones' toughest and most formidable female characters: She takes the bus to the factory by day, she parties hard and starts fights by night, she makes Jagger wait in the rain for her to get off work. It's an acoustic Beggars Banquet oddity that feels like a country song yet incorporates tablas, mandolins and a fiddle solo. It's highlighted by Nicky Hopkins' airy Fender Rhodes jazz keyboard and slide guitar from Wayne Perkins. Why did the Stones call this album Some Girls? "Because we couldn't remember their fucking names," as Richards put it at the time. The title song remains one of the Stones' funniest moments, as Jagger sings about the hard work of womanizing, pursued by groupies who take his money and take his clothes.

From the 60s with the bluesy roots and the begging of the peak with Beggar's Banquet, over the 70s with experimenting sounds such as reggae, jazz and pop ballads, an 80s decade that started off good, but lost its way somewhere in the middle, the 1989 comeback, the departure of Wyman in 1993, renewed success in the 90s. and the new millennium that still sees them doing great live shows. The last official album was A Bigger Bang from 2005, and they've more or less stopped making new stuff since. The Beatles quit the concerts to concentrate on the studio.
