The pieces were recorded by musicians who were with Ekseption between 1969 and 1975, joined by Holland's best session musicians to replace those members who had to be excluded because of contractual obligations. Back To The Classics is a music studio album recording by EKSEPTION (Eclectic Prog/Progressive Rock) released in 1976 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. As for this album, I only have the cassette format which I believe most of you do not have it because this kind of cassette was very common in the 70s, re-recorded and distributed "legally" (because the Government did not prohibit it) by local record companies. One that was quite well-known for progressive music was the one produced by Yess (name of the brand) from Bandung, West Java, Indonesia

Ekseption was a Dutch rock band active from 1967 to 1989, playing mostly-instrumental progressive rock and classical rock. The central character in the changing roster, and the only band member present on every album, was trumpeter Rein van den Broek (10 September 1945 - 11 May 2015). The band knew some commercial success in the 1970s, having Dutch top ten hit singles with their adaptations of Beethoven's "Fifth" and Bach's (Celebrated) "Air".

Back To The Classic (1976). Ekseption Plays Bach (1989). Beggar julias time trip (CD1) (1971).

Although Ekseption's first album was entirely instrumental, on the second as well as the third one, "Ekseption 3", a singer was included in the band (on "Julia Beggar's Timetrip" the singer was Michel van DIJK, who later joined the Dutch band ALQUIN, while on "Ekseption 3" Steve ALLET replaced Michel). The role of the singer was very limited on those albums, which featured only a couple of vocal songs, so after their third album the singer left the band, and Ekseption once again became an all instrumental band. EKSEPTION did no longer enjoy the success when Rick was still in the band, and after a third last album ("Back to the Classics") EKSEPTION was disbanded. The formula of EKSEPTION was too restrictive for its members, so they adopted a different name, SPIN, added a few new musicians, and they recorded two albums under that name. After his departure from EKSEPTION in 1973, Rick formed his own band, TRACE, and he recorded three astonishing symphonic rock albums with this band.
