The Vaselines re-released the song in 1992 on the compilation albums The Way of The Vaselines: A Complete History and All the Stuff and More. On All the Stuff and More, the title was changed to "Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam". Two more versions of this song were released on Nirvana's 2004 box set With the Lights Out. This included an acoustic version recorded in Europe in 1994, along with a live electric performance on the DVD section of the box-set.

A deluxe reissue of its predecessor, this 36-track juggernaut boasts new cover art, a new title, a thoughtful remastering of the group's existing catalog and a smattering of previously unreleased demos and live tracks. Though you could argue Enter the Vaselines is for hardcore twee fans only, it does offer newbies a fuller understanding of these indie pop icons.

Pitchfork Music Festival Chicago. Pitchfork Music Festival Paris. But their reunion also seemed like a "fuck it, why not?" move  . Pretend the album was recorded at the same sessions as 1989's Dum-Dum, and it's a kick. It's instructive to compare the Vaselines to the Pastels, their contemporaries and scenemates (with whom Kelly also played).

The Vaselines might not be moving on, but they're focusing more on the present than the past. Thankfully, On V for Vaselines - their third album proper - there is no sign of their lyrical wit waning, or any obvious indications of a shift in sound, but their spark has dimmed somewhat since 2010’s unexpected triumphant return Sex With An X, which is partly due to the slightly less shambolic guitar playing, and a general sense of detachment within the lyrics.

There's an other edition of this picture disc, with the same number ONLY LP 013, but with a proper record sleeve under a blister, so that I discovered it was a picture disc (with awful surface noise) only when back at home when I opened it.
