Voice of America is the second solo album by Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul released on May 7, 1984, four weeks before Bruce Springsteen released Born in the . This album traded in the horns and the R & B influences of the previous Men Without Women for a raw, garage rock sound. Politics came to the lyrical forefront, with the general theme being opposition to Ronald Reagan-era American foreign policy.

A significant artifact in DC punk history - a reissue of The Suspects' 1995 full length, "Voice of America," along with the tracks from their 1994 debut self-titled 7". Originally released on their own Torque Records label, the band's seminal output contains thirteen blasts of timeless and unadulterated punk rock, deli.

The Suspects formed in early 1993 when Bill Grady and Charlie Esparza met via the bulletin board at the old Westheimer location of Sound Exchange Records. Other members of the band were slowly recruited, and The Suspects played their first show on October 3rd 1993 at the now defunct Hoi Polloi club on White Oak Drive in Houston.
