General João Maria Moreira de Sousa (born 1951) is a former Attorney General of Angola, "the top magistrate of the Prosecuting Council". In a December 2007 ceremony reconfirming his post (which has been held since at least 2004) and attended by members of the press, de Sousa was photographed being sworn into office by José Eduardo dos Santos, President, Head of Government, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Angola.

María José (born January 12, 1976) is a singer, ballet and flamenco dancer, and athlete. She is well known and established within the music industry since she was part of a very popular pop-singing band in Mexico, Kabah, from the mid to late 1990s. Her first experience on stage was at age 14 as a dancer in the Spanish Dance Company led by Maria Elena Anaya. She remained in the dance company participating with flamenco songs as well.

Maria José Martínez-Patiño (born 10 July 1961) is a Spanish former hurdler, whose dismissal from the Spanish Olympic team in 1986 for failing the gender test is a notable moment in the history of sex verification in sports. Martínez-Patiño was dismissed after a competition that would have set her up for participation at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
