John Edmund Andrew Phillips (August 30, 1935 – March 18, 2001) was an American singer, guitarist, songwriter, and promoter of the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. Phillips was a member and leader of the vocal group The Mamas & the Papas. Phillips was born August 30, 1935 in Parris Island, South Carolina. His father, Claude Andrew Phillips, was a retired United States Marine Corps officer.

The song was published as a single additionally to the album release.

Bobby Farrell's theatrical antics as he danced around his female bandmates added spice to Boney M's performances and drove their Eastern European fan base wild, but they were nowhere near the perverse sophistication and provocative gyrations of, for example, America's Rick James. And so, in 1978, when Boney M became one of the first mainstream Western pop acts allowed into the Soviet Union, Kremlin image-makers seized an opportunity to promote the brighter side of the system.

Henry Lui. It’s time to stop glorifying the ‘996’ work culture in Hong Kong. The Daily Show is not dead and gone after all. South African comedian Trevor Noah has big shoes to fill when he takes over as host of the show, but he has proven his humour with several stand-up specials. He'll man the desk for the first time when the show returns on September 28. And he's not the only new face. John Oliver looks at online harassment. Another Daily Show alumnus, John Oliver actually served as host of that programme during the summer of 2013, when Jon Stewart was away filming a movie in Iran. Each episode of LWT makes a very quick news recap, but then changes gear to focus on one specific controversial (and usually unknown) topic, ranging from trans-gender rights, to using public funds for sports arenas, to Syrian dictators.

John Henry said I feed four little brothers, and my baby sister's walking on her knees, did the Lord say that machines awtta take the place of living, and what's a subsitute for bread and beans, I ain't seen it, do engines get rewarded for their steam. John Henry hid in a coal mine for his dinner now, had thirty minutes to rest before the bell, the mine boss hollered get up whoever you are and get a pick ax, give me enough coal to start another hill, and keep it burning, mine me enough to start another hill. John Henry said to his captain, a man ain't nothin but a man, but.

Few events in John Lennon's brief life were as traumatic and painful than the death of his mother, Julia, when he was 17. Although Julia had abandoned John to be brought up by her sister, Mimi, the event proved important in cementing his close working partnership with Paul McCartney, whose mother had died from an embolism when he was 14. The road accident that killed Julia - with an off-duty policeman at the wheel - confirmed Lennon in his distrust of anyone in authority. John was at Blomfield Road when she left to pay the visit. Having said what she'd gone there to say, Julia left for home at 9:45.
