Necrophobic discography (all). lt; Mark of the Necrogram (2018). Satanic Prophecies (2018). Mark of the Necrogram. 1.

CD in jewelcase with 12-page booklet and a 2-page Century Media leaflet.

An album like Mark Of The Necrogram is hard to talk about without contextualizing it with the rest of the band’s discography. While the group may have The Nocturnal Silence under their belt, which is considered a classic blackened death metal album, their releases from 1999 to 2013 are lackluster in many facets, namely that they lack what made the group's earliest records so enthralling. Yet, the five years between 2013’s Womb of Lilithu and this current album is certainly a long time to go without releasing an album  . Despite the odds, the once fallen Necrophobic has returned to a level of quality last seen in 1997’s Darkside.

There was a time, way back in 2009, when the constant kvetching and complaining about what constituted real Black Metal – mostly fuelled by a bunch of obnoxious elitists online desperately trying to portray themselves as the true heirs to a half-baked ideology cooked up by a bunch of disaffected Norwegian teenagers – started to take a real toll on my ability to appreciate. In the end Mark of the Necrogram proves that there’s no-one quite like Necrophobic when it comes to delivering the goods.

Mark of the Necrogram is an album that any listener with an affinity for heavy music and a soft spot for my ex wife (Satan) will appreciate. Missteps are few and far between despite the path being dark to the point of absolute.

Album: Mark Of The Necrogram. Release date: February 2018. The homecoming of The Nocturnal Silence vocalist, Anders Strokirk, has brought back the wicked roars heard in the band's debut and the return of guitarists Sebastian Ramstedt and Johan Bergebäck has restored the monstrous and grotesque sound that was slightly missing in Womb Of Lilithu. Mark Of The Necrogram is a sinister and uncompromising musical offering with dark and evil lyrics to accompany the ferocity and abrasiveness of the songs.
