Harry Partch (June 24, 1901 – September 3, 1974) was an American composer, music theorist, and creator of musical instruments. He composed using scales of unequal intervals in just intonation, and was one of the first 20th-century composers in the West to work systematically with microtonal scales. He built custom-made instruments in these tunings on which to play his compositions, and described his theory and practice in his book Genesis of a Music (1947).

Castor & Pollux - A Dance For The Twin Rhythms Of Gemini From Plectra & Percussion Dances.

Harry Partch plays conductor in a student-led performance. Watch now. Treasure Isle. The New Hampshire trio’s only studio record, Philosophy of the World, more closely resembles Captain Beefheart than their beloved Herman’s Hermits. Their discordant voices and clunky mimicry of pop melodies may be off-putting at first, but beneath the awkward instrumentation are three girls singing earnestly about their lost family cat ( My Pal Foot Foot ) and a lover’s cruel side ( Sweet Thing ).

The American composer Harry Partch composed using scales of unequal intervals in just intonation, derived from the natural Harmonic series; these scales allowed for more tones of smaller intervals than in the standard Western tuning, which uses twelve equal intervals. One of Partch's scales has 43 tones to the octave. To play this music, he built a large number of unique instruments, with names such as the Chromelodeon, the Quadrangularis Reversum, and the Zymo-Xyl.

Album by Harry Partch. was sampled in. Trouble N Da West (Who's Crew?) by Declaime feat. Evidence, Lootpack and Sauna (1999). Illmindmuzik by Declaime (1999). Roll 'Em Right by Declaime (1999).

Dobpota
My copy is a bit noisy/crackly. But if you turn up the volume, the music does indeed overpower it. I think a solid cleaning will do the trick, cause the disc looks pretty okay, but had lots of dust and slight scuffing from the paper sleeve. Great album otherwise.
