Showing gratitude

When I first planned today`s post, I was going to talk about my A/W makeup routine. But the weather was bad, the lighting was terrible and there was no way of taking a decent photo of my face. I got a bit pissed and went into drama-queen mode until I realised how childish I was. Was I going to let a minor thing like that ruin my day? Of course, if you are serious about blogging, bad lighting means bad pictures and that`s unprofessional. But us bloggers are creative people, able to reinvent! Rather than venting, why not come with another post?  So instead of focusing on the negative, why not talk about the positive things in your life? Thus a new post emerged!

I won`t lie, this was a shitty year for me! I had medical problems, stress at work, problems in the new house. However, despite that, I like to think that I am a lucky person. I have a loving husband and caring friends. I have a good job, even though it can get a bit stressful. I have a roof over my head, food and everything I need. Even my health problems seem minor compared to others. Truth be told, be live in a messed up world, plagued by wars, famine, poverty and disease. And I don`t want to make anyone feel bad, I just want you to realise how lucky we are to have the lives that we have.

Rather than focusing on the things that we don`t have, let`s take a minute to count our blessings. You might not have the latest iPhone, so what? As long as you can call, tweet and post selfies, your phone is just fine. What if you can`t afford a Chanel bag? There are so many cheap alternatives. I could go on and give you more examples, but you get my point. With hard work, you`ll probably get what you want, so appreciate what you have and what comes next.

Below I have made a list of everything I am grateful for. I tried to include the most important ones, otherwise, it would have taken forever. I hope this will inspire you all, so take a moment to breathe and realise how blessed you are. Live in the moment, but also be hopeful for tomorrow.

What I am grateful for:
  • My husband
He is the most important person in my life, he gives me strength and encourages me when I have doubts.
  • My Aunt
My aunt was the one that practically raised me, she has been by my side all the time and she`s my role model.
  • My niece
I try to spend most of my free time with her, she`s always there to give me unconditional love.
  • My Friends
There were times when I was down, but my friends made me see the good in my life.
  • Books
I just love those moments when you are so lost in a book, you`re being transported to another world.
  • Coffee
That moment in the morning when you have the first sip of your coffee and you`re ready to conquer the world!
  • Music
Music has a way of connecting people. It can remind you of a moment in time, of a feeling, of a sensation.
  • London
This has to be one of the greatest cities in the world and I couldn`t be happier that I am a part of it.

  5. Love this post and how you were able to take a less than ideal situation, turn it around, and come up with an entirely different inspiration for today's post! Sounds like you have a lot to be greatful for as well! Sadly I am home sick, but I am happy for the fact that I have a lovely home, two darling kitties, amazing friends, and a budding career!

  6. This was such a great read, I loved it! Its so different to anything I've ever read before and you're so right, we need to be more grateful and count out blessings. My mother passed away 3 months ago and since then, of course its incredibly tough, I've learnt to live each day like its my last and be grateful for the people around me. Thank you for this post! Have a lovely weekend ;)

  7. This was a beautiful post! I use to get all out of sorts when things didn't go the right way. Now I'm able to just move on to something else and realize the world will not fall apart. HaHaHa All it takes is looking around, reading the paper or watching the news to know how blessed you truly are. There's so much you can live without and don't need. We definitely need to be a lot more gracious and thankful.
