Review: The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum-in-Oil

I`m not a person that makes New Year`s resolutions, I think they`re a way to torment and lie to ourselves, but one PROMISE I made to myself is that I`ll get back my healthy skin ASAP. Not to brag, but I am (or was is more accurate) quite happy with my skin, it`s quite clear and I`m confident enough to go without foundation for days. But in December I had my Christmas schedule (hurrah for retail jobs), I worked until late and barely had time to remove my makeup when I got home, let alone apply creams or serums. I lived on fast food, chocolate and Coke, which not only affected my weight and skin, but my stomach pretty much hates me know and the acid is its cursing. Oh well, you get the point, so I`ll stop being a drama queen. Two weeks ago I went into The Body Shop and decided I want to try more of their skincare range, so far this being my favourite product.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Oil Review

I never really owned a face oil until now, I mainly used samples from Birchbox and Glossybox. Because I have combination skin I always thought an oil would make things worse, but then I read in an article that your skin produces excess oil because it`s lacking moisture. I don`t know if that`s true, I`m no skincare expert, but applying oils on my face seemed to help indeed. I guess that when you have combination skin you tend to notice only your shiny T-Zone and neglect the rest, or, at least, that`s what I used to do.

The product comes in a very cute pink bottle and has a pipette applicator, so you get the exact amount you need. I normally use 3-4 drops, rub it in my hands to warm it and then apply it into my skin in circular motions. For an oil, this feels very lightweight and not greasy at all, plus it`s absorbed in a few seconds. You might be tempted to put on more, but a few tiny drops are enough, otherwise you`ll get really oily and it will take a lot of time to sink it. (Yes, I went a bit overboard the first 2 times and looked like a fish, I`ll admit) The product has that Vitamin E range scent, but it`s not too overwhelming and it goes away after 5-10 minutes.

I haven`t used this for a long time, only 10 days, but so far I really love the results. Now every time I wake up in the morning my skin feels really soft and hydrated. Sometimes I used to wake up with really red cheeks and my skin felt tight in general, but not anymore. Not only that, but it also gives you a healthy glow, the type you get after a long vacation. . At 12£, you can put this in the drugstore category, but the results can rival its high-end competitors easily. I mean, normally you pay over 30 £ for a good oil, but this is ridiculously cheap for such an amazing product. Cannot recommend it enough, you seriously need to try it!

    1. Weirdly, since I started using oils and more skincare products, I`m not that oily on my T-zone anymore. So I think it worked, maybe this will be good for you as well.

  12. I really like this oil too :) and I completely agree, as a combination skinned girl, I've only recently appreciated that my skin needs moisture. Overnight treatments are perfect for this xx
